I've been thinking about it since I read that post.

Are there even 5000 good games at all across every platform?

We're putting on our counting hats and figuring this poo poo out by naming every good video game in existence.

We're gonna need rules. Lots of rules!

Rule 1. Continue the count from the last post.
There'll be mistakes. Roll with it.

Rule 2. Try to avoid dupes.
Repeats are inevitable. We'll run with them, but lets work to preserve the sanctity of this scientific process.
Use thread search or the google doc at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gQG2BaWcE43CNhHWBKvKAx6DI2DLe2k1F0R5l6uDK38/edit?usp=sharing

Rule 3. There's no turning back.
You decide what's a good game. Once you post a new entry, it's a good game for now and forever. Use your power wisely!

Rule 4. Any digital game is valid.
Unfinished, early access, stuck on a store front nobody uses, your friends RPGmaker fever dream that only you saw, it's all eligible as long as you played it and it was a good game.

Rule 5. No personal attacks or singling out people like Stux if they post something you disagree with.
Subforum rules still apply. This is a team effort to count to 5000. Lets not get bogged down in semantics.

Rule 6. Expansions, DLC and mods qualify if they're a distinct game from the original.
It's a blurry line. Look for stuff that could've been standalone games without superseding the original. That invalidates horse armor and most MMO expansions.
If in doubt, remember we're looking for 5000 good games. You could tell someone Starcraft and Brood War were two good games.

I debated with myself if this thread should go in PYF, but concluded it's more of a community project than a mere list. We're working towards something here. Finding 5000 good games. An important challenge with an important goal. No room here for the fun and shenanigans they have over at PYF. And the subforum rules fit better, that was the actual reason.
