Nobody move and nobody gets hurt.

We find ourselves in the midst of one of the most turbulent and frankly insane offseasons in recent memory. The pandemic may be over (thanks, Roger!), but there's a full-scale arms race underway in at least one of the conferences and there's only so much you can do in free agency. Thus we turn our collective eyes to the draft, where the receivers are faster than ever, the linemen are bigger than ever, and the quarterbacks are there too. Welcome to the 2022 Goon Draft!

The Rules
:siren: PLEASE READ THE RULES WHY WOULD YOU SIGN UP FOR THIS AND NOT READ THE RULES :siren:

Each team will have one poster as its GM, responsible for making the picks (which, for the sake of easy tracking, will be posted in a separate thread once the draft commences). Teams are first come first serve. War rooms are fine, so long as there is a designated spokesperson. The clock on each pick is 24 hours, at which point if the spokesperson has not made a pick I will make one for them. No trades will be allowed, as they just tend to complicate things and previous drafts have run much more efficiently without them. If you just want to take part and don’t care which team you get, post and I’ll assign you to a team that might not have any other takers (probably be a few this year). The goal is to start by April 1, but we'll start earlier if all the teams are claimed.

Here's the first round draft order:

1. Jacksonville Jaguars TSBX
2. Detroit Lions Hizawk
3. Houston Texans Play
4. New York Jets Professor Funk

Thanks for doing this again!

I would love to take the Packers again this year. If another Packers fan wants to join the war room, I'm down for that.

Ask me about Derek Carr's stolen MVP awards, those dastardly refs, and, oh yeah, having the absolute worst fucking gimmick in The Football Funhouse.
I'll take the Raiders unless Blitz wants them again this year. If he does, then just give me a random team.

I'm not really familiar with any hardcore Texans fans here who like doing the goon draft. I'd enjoy doing them since they have a good number of picks which makes it more fun. And they're a team I've always been perversely interested in.

If there is a big Texans fan who really wants to do it, just quote this post and you can have it. If that's the case, I'll take the Rams. Even though they will probably only make one pick total in the goon draft, lol

You have a lot of freedom to decide who you want, considering the Texans need everyone.

As do Atlanta. Houston is in a worse position though.

I'm thinking the following ranking:
1. Hutchinson
2. Thibidoux
3. Trayvon Walker
4. Kyle Hamilton

For the 32nd Pick its basically:

1. Best WR available??
1. Another DE??
2. Best Safety??
3. Best LB??

Defintely interested in seeing how the 32nd opens up. I really wanna make sure we get a prestige position for that valueable 5th year option, so really leaning towards WR or DE.

Yeah, it's going to be really interesting to see how the draft shakes out and who's available at 32 and 34. I also agree with the rankings: Grab Hutch if availible, and if not, go for Kayvon.

We got through 3 rounds last year, which I'd say is about what we usually do.

Target for starting is end of the week, but we still have 10 teams that need GMs. Obviously we can double-dip as needed and not all of those teams have first-rounders, but I'll put out a call in N/V today to see who else we can get.
