Has anyone tried to get a second Moderna booster after having already had two Pfizer shots? Or even more specifically, attempted to get 100 mg for the booster? I got a 100 mg Moderna in September and it hosed me up big time, but with news of how immune evasive the new Omicron variants are I'm thinking of doubling down on it. I lied and said that the booster was my "first shot" back in September. Are pharmacies more vigilant about that kind of thing now?

I'm going on a long plane ride (gulp) in a month and I'm wondering if I'd be able to breathe in a P100 for 15 hours or if I should just settle for a good N95 and get boosted right before the trip (I'm doing that either way). Conducted virtually, the exercise examined gaps in national and international biosecurity and pandemic preparedness architectures and explored opportunities to improve capabilities to prevent and respond to high-consequence biological events. Participants included 19 senior leaders and experts from across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe with decades of combined experience in public health, biotechnology industry, international security, and philanthropy. The exercise scenario portrayed a deadly, global pandemic involving an unusual strain of monkeypox virus that emerged in the fictional nation of Brinia and spread globally over 18 months. Ultimately, the exercise scenario revealed that the initial outbreak was caused by a terrorist attack using a pathogen engineered in a laboratory with inadequate biosafety and biosecurity provisions and weak oversight. By the end of the exercise, the fictional pandemic resulted in more than three billion cases and 270 million fatalities worldwide."

Even though it's mostly been around the genitals most epidemiologists are speculating that it's from close contact/respiratory/etc. Fomites from bed sheets/clothes might be a factor. Since human-human transmission has never really happened to this degree it needs to be studied more. Airborne possible since pox viruses have been airborne in the past

The first world post-WWII was really a complete fluke of human history, and we still get to reap many of the privileges of it at the expense of everyone else. The world has always been a total meat grinder, and it's only now that the walls are closing in on all of us in our bubble within a bubble People have stoically survived far worse circumstances than what we're going through right now and will continue to do so, and more likely than not we're all going to know more and more what that's like throughout our lifetimes, and then when we're all dead what does it matter? What's frustrating for me is how much people take all this horrendous poo poo for granted on a daily basis, but I guess that's also a coping strategy, because being plugged in like we are is so draining

I have a set of N95 respirator masks which work great but the straps are painful for my head. Are there any comfortable ones this thread would recommend?
