I'm not familiar with the D-Backs stadium at all, but I generally go for seats that are in the shade since I have legit gotten sunburnt really bad just from being in the direct California sunlight for 30 minutes.

Generally speaking though, the closer to the field you are, the more expensive tickets get. I think directly behind home plate is one of the most expensive seats other than VIP areas since it's like... right there in the action. The lower part of the upper bowl is pretty decent, as it's a bit high up, but you're not sitting against the very back of the stadium.
