Sammy Watkins, huh? Well, the price seems right. I would've put him as the fifth-most desirable free agent receiver left after OBJ, Landry, Julio, and Fuller. Watkins is the youngest of that group at 28, and although he has injury concerns, so do all of them. It's reasonable enough that he could be a bridge in the first half of the season before he gets injured and a rookie receiver is ready to take a larger role. He's also a different type of a receiver than Lazard/Cobb/Rodgers, so that's helpful. It's not exciting, but overall, I like it.

It’s not bad if you look at it purely from a production standpoint, but you can’t count on the guy being available for any particular game so you basically have to treat him as a luxury piece and build your offensive on the assumption they he won’t be there.

Totally overreacting to minimal information, but my first reaction was that this feels like they want Jenkins to stick at RT and are slotting Borom in at LT as the best option available with the opportunity to pull a ripcord and sign a vet or draft a guy if they don’t like what they see I’d be content going into the season with a vet-Whitehair-Patrick-rookie-Jenkins o-line. And if Borom gets the starting nod I’ll assume it’s because he won it rather than them just shrugging their shoulders at the prospect of upgrading
