I thought Landry Fields was going to be an amazing role player.

His great rookie year was almost 100% because of Jeremy Lin.

God drat what a phenom Lin was. He might be the best ball handling lightning quick straight line guy I've ever seen.

Hottest flames burn the fastest

After linsanity it just became clear Landry was an end of bench guy at best. Seems to be doing fine now though so who cares

Landry Fields had a really bad nerve injury that hosed him up after that.

Ah I knew there was something, but googling wasn't bringing it up. That's a double tragedy with lin's menisus/totally scar tissue filled knee and then landry's neuro thing

Fields was probably a low end starter/good rotation guy before the injury, he was a nice story but you'd think he was a phenom by the press he got. He was part of the string of guys Knicks fans delightfully overrated.

Fields also had that weird raptor contract where Toronto tried to tie up The Knicks cap space so they couldn't sign Steve Nash to but it backfired and they ended up overpaying Fields AND didn't sign Nash.

quote:

Two-time All-Star Zach LaVine is expected to re-sign with the Chicago Bulls once the free-agency negotiation period opens June 30, sources told B/R.

Ironing out LaVine's next deal appears centered on the fifth year of the contract. LaVine is eligible for a five-year deal totaling roughly $200 million. Whether that season is fully guaranteed, is a player option or nets other potential outcomes remains to be seen.

quote:

In ongoing trade chatter around the league, Atlanta was believed to have made all players besides Trae Young available, but sources told B/R the team is now expected to retain De'Andre Hunter and agree to terms on a long-term contract extension.

quote:

Indiana widely explored the market for Myles Turner before the 26-year-old's season ended because of a stress reaction in his left foot. The Pacers have since resumed trade conversations about Turner ahead of the draft, sources told B/R, in addition to engaging opposing front offices on point guard Malcolm Brogdon.

Definitely wouldn’t trade one of Charlotte’s picks for Turner as mentioned in the article but it could be worse

Fields owes Colangelo a cushy no work special advisor role or something to pay him back for the contract he got.

I honestly couldn't tell you who was reputable here or not. It doesn't make a ton of sense given where Toronto is at unless they are giving up Siakam or Barnes but we shall see.

I think you might be overvaluing Gobert's trade value. It's a big contract and he's a player with warts. He's also the least popular star player out there, so as a GM you need to hit a home run or you'll be run out of a job.

Yeah but at the same time why would the Jazz take back some garbage when the alternative is keeping a three-time DPOY

Even as someone who thinks Barnes is barrelling towards being overrated, I think you'd be nuts to trade Gobert to Toronto without getting him or Siakam back.
