There's a making of Top Gun documentary that's on youtube and it's pretty good. Fun facts about Top Gun: -They had Tom Cruise in mind for the lead when they were writing the movie. -The dogfights as depicted in the movie are completely impossible with those planes and total Hollywood fiction. -Kelly McGillis was wearing a hat in the elevator because they shot that scene long after principle filming wrapped and she had died her hair for another movie.
