Wertjoe posted:Jack Reacher, the one with Tom Cruise. The wife turned it on then promptly fell asleep so I just stayed up and watched. It sucked poo poo. The character of Jack Reacher seems like it was written by a 14 year old who was trying to make up the coolest dude he could imagine. I found the premise a bit of a reach

HUSKY DILF posted:fav movie of one of my friends i’m overdue to watch this is it good Yeah, I give it four cool blobs out of five. I wouldn't go so far as to call it high art, but it's got tonnes of style and is quite silly at times. Real 'caught it randomly on late night TV growing up and never forgot it' type vibes. Then again, my favourite movie is Gus Van Sant's Gerry, so I may not be the best judge. |

DoomCroissant posted:well yeah Nope is a hard one to get someone else interested in because it starts off so slow. It's a good movie, but it has to be one of those "I've got nothing else to do, might as well watch a movie" situations. If you come at it super keen like "oh man this movie is great you have to watch it!", the other person is gonna be "when does it get good" for a while. |

I've nearly finished this playthrough of Cyberpunk. I find the meta story much better playing as corpo rather than street kid like my first playthrough. It makes more sense as someone cut down by office politics trying to claw their way back to the top (and get back at their former employer) who's willing to do whatever it takes to get there, including cut whatever deals are necessary with Just Johnny. As street kid, it felt like just another big shot trying to use you, force you to follow their agenda, and that just didn't feel right. As corpo, it's just biz. Eventually I'll do a nomad playthrough and finish Panam's storyline. Would be fun if the dialog let you play as an annoying superfan of Samurai and Johnny Silverhand, like oh man I'm your biggest fan, absolutely you can use my body, that would be amazing! Just gung-ho reactions to every one of his suggestions or dialog trees. |

Once I've finished it I'll move it to my external HD to make space for Destiny 2 which you guys have convinced me is worth trying out. |

Alien Romulus A cool and good Alien movie. Takes the concepts cack-handedly introduced in Prometheus and the other one and actually does something with them. There's a couple of plot holes, sure, but overall a solid sci-fi flick. |

i watched curse of the wolf, 2006. not to be confused with len kabasinkis 2004 movie of the same name. i was confused and in my state of confusion i watched what looked like a student film. i also loled harder at this than i have in my life while the whole time thinking len was behind the camera Cant give away too much if you ever find this, comedic heights involve "You're european... are you a werewolf" and "listen baby, i had some broccoli stuck in my teeth and she was helping get it out" Also when the guy runs into a bar looking for help and one of the patrons looks at him square in the face and is like "I'm gonna loving kill you" completely deadpan

Hope (Lloyd) and Providence (Harry) (we meet Lloyd on Hope St. and Harry in a van labelled Providence, R.I.) Hope is mistakenly guided to love, and Providence helps him. When Hope asks Providence to introduce him to her in Aspen, Providence meets her and tries to hide her, but Hope remains undeterred. It turns out that she is married, and Hope and Providence unwittingly were on a journey to save her husband. Hope and Providence exit the scene. I guess you could say that Hope is dumb and Providence is dumber, but I think they just work in mysterious ways. |
