I think the gist is that, worldwide, life is turds rn and having kids is something that was more possible in the Before Times and thus the possibility of No Kids was possibly a hella scary concept for a movie in slightly less poo poo times like when the movie was made and now it's kind of quaint honestly compared to how bad everything is

machine girl was great. my other Japanese weird favorites: ichi the killer tetsuo: the iron man electric dragon 80,000V wild zero tokyo gore police air doll although I haven't watched any of these in a while. I might have also been drunk for all of them

I mostly remember the long crochet needles or whatever I watched puss in boots 2, which came out like 14 years after the first one and after everyone had forgotten about Shrek and it was great. out of nowhere. The animation reminded me of the fight scenes from into the spider verse and also the newer animated tmnt movie

Something broke in my brain to where I have to watch EVERYTHING with subtitles but I have a hard time watching non-English movies unless I'm sitting at a PC with headphones on. It's because I can only half pay attention to anything. I hate it. I did watch this French zombie movie recently called MadS and it was really neat. A good take on the zombie film genre. I like the way it followed the rotation of characters.

Catalyst. Uhh, what. My brain hurts. I thought this was gonna be a SAW-like movie given the setup, but now I think I just watched a bunch of Joe Rogan podcast bros work through their self-confidence-based trauma in between weird shots of generic bad guys and too many CGI displays. There was a countdown timer of an hour in the movie and man I felt every minute of that. What a weird movie. I feel like it was a bad dream. It got 7/10 and I don't understand it, it could have been a 45 minute short film...
