I have nothing against soup in a bread bowl, and indeed I enjoy it from time to time, but it is not a sandwich for the purposes of this thread. The closest soup in a bread bowl could come to being a sandwich is that it has some similarities to a taco, which, as was clarified previously, does not count as a sandwich for the purposes of this thread. This thread is for ranking different types of sandwiches.

Let’s put that ugliness behind us and get back to ranking sandwiches. Leftover thanksgiving Turkey on toasted wheat with iceberg lettuce, Swiss or provolone, lots of mayo sand cranberry sauce is solid A-tier, possibly S-tier

Chickencheese can be a solid sandwich. Last time I chickencheesed I made it like a cheesesteak and it was good as heck. Definitely a tier at least

Chicago Italian beef sandwich is a good sandwich too. Would make it s tier but it’s messy as hell and can come with severe and rapid digestive consequences, so I’m gonna call it an a, a- tier. I’d rank meatball sub about the same for similar reasons. Probably a b-tier for me, but that’s just personal preference-it’s definitely a quality sandwich, but the downsides keep it from being a real top tier treat.

I know the sloppy joe was deemed by KS in this thread to not be a sandwich, but there's the Manwich, and there's nothing saying you couldn't put it on sliced bread instead of a bun. Either way it starts with an "M" so its M tier.

i've always had a sloppy joe either on bread or on toast (whether it needs to be toasted depends heavily on the wetness of the meat) so in my experience it is always a sandwich also it's good, but not amazing, solid b imo

strongly concur with a sloppy joe on bread being a solid B tier. I've never had a great one, never had a bad one. reliable b-tier sandwich.

got some jalapeno honey mustard from a local farm / co-op at the farmer's market and it deserves to be on a really good sandwich, got no thoughts beyond that though. still in the early sandwich planning phase. I want to do this right.

Bit of mayo on the bottom, mustard on the top. Maybe some baby spinach on there between the mayo and the chicken. On maybe a brioche or potato bun. Or some smashed avocado instead of baby spinach. Or both. I think no onions because it'd take away from the mustard. Same for cheese. |

Hmm, I have some chicken breasts thawing in the fridge, I can just cook one of those and use it. Not sure what gherkins are but I'm excited to find out. I can't eat tomatoes on sandwiches because I am a giant baby. The rest is absolutely doable. I can get brioche from a local artisanal bread place about a half mile from my house. Smashed avocado sounds good, I'm thinking baby spinach also. Could toast the whole thing in my toaster oven to finish. Should the avocado get toasted or would that go on last? Much to consider.

S tier: fried egg and pb on rye anything on vollkornbrot or pumpernickel  A tier: fried egg and marmite on wholemeal egg salad w/ cress on rye or wholemeal B tier: fried egg and ketchup on (soggy from ketchup) white egg salad on white F tier: poached egg on white yes I have personal bread rankings why do you ask |
