The only pieces of vintage PI drama I recall, from not long after I registered: * A goon who owned at least one pit bull and was insistent that the extreme dog aggression/other dogfighting traits were the heart of the breed and that anyone trying to breed them out was Doing Pit Bulls Wrong. I don't think she was into dogfighting, just... into her preferred breed being the worst possible pets? * Another goon who claimed to carry around a weapon (some sort of hammer, iirc) while walking her dog so that she could beat to death any stray dogs that might attack hers. I don't remember if this ever actually happened.

The story as I recall it: someone tried to start discussion of SA Neopets drama (which wasn't really substantiated, just "I heard some crazy poo poo went down in the day" but I don't think anyone could find threads) when the "FYAD are transphobic Nazis" poo poo was getting into full swing, and this led some poster to conclude that anyone trying to talk about Neopets drama in the Sagas thread was trying to deliberately bury the TRUTH ABOUT FYAD, so they drew up a forums enemies list based on it. This may not have been the only forums enemies list created at the time.

The only "secret FYAD codewords" drama I recall is that at least one person sincerely believed that the Cholesterol Clubhouse was opened up as a crypto-FYAD for FYADs to secretly Nazi-post at each other under the guise of discussing fast food, because somehow GBS (which at that point was about half fast-food discussion threads by volume) getting a fast-food discussion subforum was obviously just too crazy.

CascadeBeta was a primary actor in the Troubles and mostly notable for being a complete rage elemental -- I can't remember the content of a single post she made, but she was incredibly angry about FYAD all the time. She also had an avatar of some Deltarune character that Pick (iirc?) described as "sexpot Barney," and FYAD made fun of it, which is where the "Barney is now a transphobic slur" idea came from. CB was made a mod or admin on B&R when it got up and running, and my understanding is that she was still an unhinged rage elemental there, just directed at her erstwhile allies.

The repeated emphasis on how he never hit or beat her (because so many people still consider physical abuse as the only form of spousal abuse), the vague assertions that she was "crazy," referring to her "stealing" from the joint account when there's no evidence she had any other finances (and tons of evidence that he was keeping her financially dependent on him), treating their child as his sole property and suddenly becoming passionate about fatherhood when the kid's being "stolen"... I don't blame people for not recognizing it, but it could have been a Lundy Bancroft case study.

I remember that thread, although I mostly recall it being very sad. IIRC the wife had an abrupt psychotic break, started swinging between being hostile to the OP and completely incoherent, and ended up in inpatient care, with the marriage not surviving. Something about the wife claiming that she and the OP were two different kinds of ducks? Really, just a very sad thread -- total "sometimes the brain breaks" stuff.
