I honestly thought the worst he would shoot was 2 under. He was booming his drives all week long but even better his approach shots. He backed off on his drives so much even the announcers noticed and after he sailed his wedges early he lost major confidence.

St. Andrews is like a par 68 for McIlroy. He made no mistakes today, but he didn't capitalize on enough birdie chances. That being said, there's not a whole lot you can do when somebody clips you by shooting 30 on the back nine. Hats off to Cam Smith. I'm gutted for Rory, but hopefully he takes positives from this and finishes the slam at Augusta in April.

It really seemed like Hovland was playing timidly waiting for Rory to meltdown (who was also playing timidly) while the two Cam's  just went gonzo in front of them.Maybe the tiebreaker next time for this should be final round score?
