The gold rush is the best ride based on effort, that one miner that jumps out used to scare the poo poo out of me

I liked the pirate ship when I was 8. The corkscrew roller coaster scared the bajeezus out of me however. Those are the two things I remember. It looks like there's also a log flume which I probably enjoyed.

Is $65 a lot or pretty good for a ticket?

It was a sad day when I heard the pirate ship got decommissioned.

I don't think I'd pay that much but given how much everything costs these days that's probably actually not terrible for a whole day and you ride the attractions a few times.

Are there fares on the rides? That is shockingly cheap.

No, all rides included. Just to compare to other Auckland attractions:

Zoo $24
Kelly Tarlton's $33
Sky Tower Walk $135
Sky Tower Jump $202 ($295 for both)
Harbour Bridge Bungy $155
Harbour Bridge Walk $120 ($215 for both)
White Water Rafting at the White Water Park $125
Jet Boat Harbour Ride $98

Genuinely, I would have guessed like 2-3x more for all of those.

Nevis bungy is the highest/most $ in the country and is $275 tourist robbing Queenstown dollars. I'm curious to know what you think other things cost!? 2l milk? One banana?

$24 is not bad for the Zoo though

2 adults and up to 3 kids is $220 for a year pass, totally worth it if you are in aucks and like rad animals

BuckyDoneGun

Yeah Zoo pass is good if you have younger kids. If you only have one, $155 for the kid and one adult is included.

Another activity comparison: 2 adults and 2 kids at the Warriors is $60 for cheap seats and $100 for better, but actually the cheap seats are a pretty good time.

Plus when you watch the Warriors, you teach your kids that people will still like them even if they lose constantly

I think they've repurposed the pirate ship into a kids ride, sort of like a ski lift swing for like 8 people. A fitting retirement gig.

Remember the footrot flats theme park tho? The roller coaster at that was way scarier. Mostly because it was dodgy as gently caress.

I do not mourn the pirate ship. gently caress that nausea machine.
