I’ve thought of this before. Set it on Melmac before the planet was destroyed. Make it a limited run prequel series to the original show and have the series finale be the nuclear annihilation of the planet.

And no, the cartoon will not be canon.

The Magic School Bus, Ms. Frizzle is actually Satan, but even though she teaches them things Christian parents won't approve of it is still all useful knowledge and quite appropriate and important for children to know.

A 'Magic School Bus meets Lucifer', if you will.

OH NO!
Apparently there was an attempt to get a Gilligan’s Island gritty remake off the ground. James Gunn was going to direct a script by Charlie Kaufman and it was going to involve horror and cannabalism. It went nowhere because the estate of the creator of the series vetoed it twice. I’m not sure how you manage to hang on to the rights to something like that to the point where you can single-handedly shut down an attempt by the money people to exploit the IP, but here we are.

Personally, I want a Home Alone remake in the vein of something like Don’t Breathe. Have a small group of thieves with backstories that range from sympathetic to I-hope-he-dies-first try to burgle an honest to god sprawling estate, only to find they’ve been left alone with a sociopathic child.

A couple of years ago Ryan Reynolds talked about making a home alone movie called “Stoned Alone” but I haven’t heard anything about it since.

Gritty reboot of the 1960s Batman TV show specifically where everything looks the same down to the costumes and sets except now Batman and the villains act like complete psychos like in the modern movies.

Edit: And the violence is more realistic.

Bob Gale swears that there’s some kind of contract in place with Universal where they can’t attempt a Back to the Future reboot/sequel/horse corpse flogging until after he and Zemeckis are both dead.

That would probably have to be done somewhat tastefully and mostly left to viewers' imaginations. Like the Hannibal show.

Three's Company is about how Santa Monica housing has went up like 500% in the last few years and two girls have to move in together into a studio apartment and have to bring in a third roomie to afford it. Jack sleeps in the bathroom tub during the night.

Jack Tripper wants to open a restaurant, but doesn't have the money, so they run a ghost kitchen during COVID out of their apartment. The constant stream of UberEats and Doordash drivers to their place make people curious. Now they're hiding both the 'extra roommate' and an unlicensed business.

Jack ends up in prison by the end of the series for all the permit laws they broke, and is shivved during his first day in the kitchen when wanting to update the menu.
