It feels wrong to have an aftermath thread before 10 PM when the evening slate (minus Pac-12/MWC) is complete; I know that's how NFL threads work but seems like we've typically done CFB different.

I think Purdue is the best team in the West. Also, I know Texas and Texas A&M are historical rivals or whatever but this competition of who can do the worst with the most talent is getting out of hand.

Iowa State lost because their FG kicker sucks. That’s really taking me back. Not really all his fault, the offense scored one lousy TD. I knew they were going to miss the last kick when Campbell didn’t go for it on 4th and 1. For some reason, he tends to get scared at the end of games. Middle of the game and he’ll be aggressive, but settling for FGs doesn’t cut it at ISU. We are cursed to lose on last second missed field goals.

Wake Forest winning in Tallahassee brings back some delicious memories from the end of the Bowden era. FSU isn't quite back. Bill O'Brien apparently needed Young to get injured to realize he could just gash an opponent on the ground. Those were some crazy runs. I'm not sold on Bama's WR play anyway.

First time UNLV is 4-1 since 2003. They overcame an ugly first half and found a way to win, which is a welcome change. I hope they can keep it together and go to a nice bowl game.

James Madison is 4-0 in its first FBS season, and with 2 or 4 or 8 more wins will remain bowl-ineligible.

Miss St is always trouble, especially with Leach, so the loss isn’t surprising. Even with the bad snaps and OL protection, what’s frustrating is I can tell myself there were a handful of plays before the 4th that change the game from a blowout to a nail biter. A handful of dropped picks (one likely a pick six), fumbles in the red zone, the 10 point swing on a blocked FG, the dropped TD, a perfect screen call where a blocker ignored the only defender who could tackle Achane before he got up to speed, all things that good teams execute on and A&M doesn’t. Hire an OC Jimbo.

At the beginning of this year, I would never have thought that LSU would be 4-1 now and a blocked extra point away from being 5-0. Still have many tough games, but can't complain too much.

Moral victory I guess. Missouri spent a half winning on both sides of the ball at the line against Georgia which should have some alarm bells ringing. Even if Georgia figured out after the half that they're way bigger and stronger, that should never have been an issue.

Mizzou might have won that game if they didn’t settle for a field goal after running 63 yards down to the Georgia one yard line. Or settle for field goals all night in general.
