100-120 BPM is apparently the ideal BPM to perform CPR to. If you were dying, and you overhear someone singing and compressing your chest, what song would be preferable? Would you come back to life with MMMbop? Or would you wish for the sweet embrace of death, fading into the ether with the dulcet tones of Fly by Sugar Ray? As for me, ideally I’d like to be brought from the brink to Hall & Oates’ “I can’t go for that (no can do)”

The CPR class I took told me that Staying Alive is the ideal song to play in your head while giving CPR because it's the almost perfect beat. So that's my serious answer. Fake answer? Nookie, duh.

apparently the Spice Girls’ Wannabe is 110 bpm, as is the cover of Lady Marmalade from Moulin Rouge, while B*Witched’s C’Est La Vie is 109 bpm However, Pink Floyd’s Another Brick In The Wall Part 2 is 100 bpm if I have to be rocketed back from the grip of the great beyond, I either want to hear the pop trash that got me hype decades ago, or WE DON’T NEED NO EDUCATION, WE DON’T NEED NO THOUGHT CONTROL

A Gregorian chant. It’s an example of free time, a piece of music that has no discernible beat, and which is thus ideal for very lazy paramedics.

Yeah they always tell you in the classes to use Staying Alive, and that's fine if you use it in your head as a cadence thing, but if you actually sing it a patient in distress it really weirds them out. Don't do that.
