notes about addresses when filling out your form:

non-us participants: please supply your real name; if you have to pay duty on your incoming gift or otherwise deal with customs you may have a hard time if you don't have an id that matches the name on the box.
us participants: please also supply a real name. the post office has updated their self serve kiosks to now demand that the sender type in the full name and address of the sender and recipient; i know some post offices will reject mail that has a name not matching the address so unless you know your post office dgaf don't just put your username down.

whatever you put into the goog form gets forwarded to your santa so you don't have to post it here too unless you just want to.

in previous years people have preferred the thread to the form i think

it's more fun this way imo. after all nobody's gonna put "i want a pile of chips" in their form, but they might make a joke about it itt

and that's how i sent my santee a case of (iirc) zapps chips one year

oh yeah i don't mean to stop anyone from doing it if they want to, just noting that it's optional.

i only specified my first name on the form so hopefully that's fine

my experience with sending gifts to the uk is that will mean you have to go to the post office in person and persuade them to release the package to you after paying customs on it; i recommend providing your full name if fuzzy mammal can't match you with another uk-based participant.

well poo poo how do i edit my submission

don't sweat it for now, fuzzy mammal may have a domestic match for you and then it's a nonissue but if the yosmas elf asks you for your last name it's because you have an international santa asking for it.

attn participants: if you get hbag and are not uk-based, contact me or another elf so we can get it sorted out before you mail it and save them having to fast talk his majesty's revenue service on the receive end.

my gift is probably gonna be delayed a lil because my debit card got frozen for fraud yesterday lol rip

while it would be hilarious, hopefully not because you were trying to get something hilariously weird for your santee.

also each year i consider joining yosmas, but then gifts like this remind me i could never hope to achieve this level of... whatever this is, and i give up before signing up. and i don't even know what i like so i'd pity anyone who'd end up having to get something for me

just do it. read what your recipient is interested in and then just go wild. stalk their post history or ask an elf if you feel like you're lost. but you'll be fine.

there are some fairly inexpensive arduino addons to read and write eeproms and the microchip serial eeprom dev board is pretty decent for dips. soics you'll need a clip or something to touch the legs.
