Is it time to turn this into the air fryer thread, or shall we diverge for a while on the pros and cons of deep fried turkey vs oven roasted turkey? (ps, deep fried turkey is better, juicier and faster, with the added bonus of burning down your house)

I’m thinking I’d like to get an air fryer + insta pot combo so I can officially get rid of my crockpot, pressure cooker, and air fryer. None of what I have are particularly good and this would save a lot of shelf space, but I’m worried that I’m going to get crap since the Instapot brand is too widespread which makes me assume it’s a dumb fad and will suck.

FWIW, the instapot is pretty decent for making your own yogurt. I use it weekly to make a gallon of milk into greek yogurt, and its awesome.

Smoke that bird. Finish in the oven at high heat for the skin.

Unfortunately my smoker isn't big enough for a turkey.

I forget, is this the year where they are banning the use of tire blankets, or is that next season?

holy poo poo finally. save me from this hell. i need a distraction!

still havent made it past the second ep of DTS this year. lol

I can watch about one or two episodes, but i find the editing for drama and the manipulation of information to present a 'compelling storyline' to be quickly tiresome. Selective editing of events that are months apart then spliced together to make something seem it was a bigger deal than it actually was bugs the poo poo out of me.

I checked out of last season of DTS when where Verstappen got taken out in turn one (not sure what race that was, Silverstone?) and then magically was hot on Danny Ric's tail at the end of the race but McLaren managed to stay ahead for the win. I mean, there's a crash on turn 1 of every race, you don't need to pull poo poo like that, there's ample footage of the race in focus that you could use.

I'm going to show my ignorance here, but could theoretically a driver take over the car of his second if he gets taken out in the race and race the other car? Or is that forbidden? I'm guessing it would be.

[edit] I'm also guessing that a) I need more coffee before posting to the interweb, and b) it would be pointless to do anyways since the driver would be so behind in laps, unless the crash caused a red flag.

Think this was what undid George last year - if you get out of your car then you are deemed to have retired from the race, I guess in the pit lane during a red flag is the exception

Now that I think about it a bit more, I'm sure the driver of the 1st car would run into parc ferme rules if he tried to drive the 2nd car, since there would need to be so many adjustments of the car before he could reasonably race it, such as weight and balance to account for the different weights, seat height, and other things to customize it for that specific driver.

You used to be able to hop into the reserve car before the start of the race and start from the pits back in the day - not sure if that's a thing anymore. I think I remember a time when they did it mid race too but don't quote me on that.

From what I was just reading, reserve or 't-cars' were banned after 2008 to lower costs for teams.

News: There won’t be any support series at all for the Las Vegas GP, because too many race cars going by casinos is bad apparently.

As an American, can I appologize in advance for the shitshow that is going to be the Vegas (and Miami) GPs? I'm already embarrassed.
