  UAS Science Vessel PQ-08, "Linnaeus". Captain's Log, Stellar Date 101.96.1. Our mission to M-class planet REDACTED in the Alpha Centauri system has exceeded expectations. We depart with a collection of living specimens that is sure to be of great interest to the Nyberg Institute back on Earth. We had to use every single containment cell in the biospecimen ward to fit them all - the xenobiologists on deck three are currently torn between being upset that we had to leave so many specimens behind, and ecstatic that we managed to bring so many with us in the first place. I know they're excited to start analyzing some of the feistier samples before we even reach Earth. By and large, however, we expect it to be a quiet and uneventful trip home. All systems are stable and in good condition. We expect no incidents of any kind. General Information This is a game for 15 players featuring a lot of power roles and some experimental stuff. I'll say that again: This game features some unusual, experimental ideas that might not be balanced. That said, there are no jesters, involuntary alignment changes, misleading role PMs or other similar mechanics involved. If the game goes down in flames, hopefully it still does so in a fun way! Days will be approximately 48 hours long unless otherwise requested. The deadline will be approximately 9 pm UTC (5 pm EST), even if the day starts or ends early. Eliminations will be by majority vote. No-elimination days are possible if no majority is reached. This game is kindly co-modded by My Second Re-Reg. Rules and Regulations Standard rules apply.

UAS Science Vessel PQ-08, "Linnaeus". Captain's Log, Stellar Date 101.96.2. I don't know which happened first. Either the computer systems all went down at the same time, which caused containment to fail, or containment failed first and the escaped specimens wreaked havoc on the computers. The upshot is the same - I can't get any reliable information or contact any of my senior officers. I don't even know if they're all still alive; before the monitoring systems went completely dark the last few reports indicated significant damage to multiple decks and multiple casualties. Even moving through the ship is difficult. Life support is barely hanging on. The one silver lining is that the hull appears to still be intact, and limited unauthenticated communication is still possible via radiolink. Now, I just need to figure out which of these voices in the darkness can be trusted. Was this an accident, or deliberate sabotage? We can't afford to rule out the possibility of the latter. With the hyperlight commlinks down we can't afford to wait for the cavalry to arrive and rescue us. They might not even know anything is wrong. These are desperate times, and they call for desperate measures. Day 1 has begun with reports of multiple containment breaches and computer malfunctions all over the ship. The first day will last a little over 72 hours (subsequent days will be 48 hours). The incident has clearly thrown everything into chaos. What once was a tight crew that could trust each other in any foul weather is now rife with paranoia. In the end, one of them stuck out. Wait, hold on? A telepathic frog? That doesn't sound like any crewmate anyone remembers. In fact, it sounds suspiciously like a specimen, if anything! CCKeane a.k.a. Perhaps it was feeling cornered. An unusual feeling, for something like that. Or perhaps it knew its day had come. Or maybe those spores just changed something in it. Whatever the reason, the crew found that suddenly, the vicious thing they had all feared had returned of its own volition to its cell. Bifauxnen a.k.a. But overall, they came out of the affair largely unscathed. So things can be, on the frontiers of space. All threats to the ship have been eliminated. The game has ended in a CREW victory!

You might be wondering what repairing the computer systems would have done. You saw two of them, but here they all are: System A: Weapons Lockers - Cooksy gets a one-shot dayvig. System B: Security Office - Security chief can now also roleblock the targets he watches, but cannot target the same player on consecutive nights. System C: Engineering - Engineering chief learns all the systems and can repair another one tonight. System D: Sickbay - Doctor now also voyeurs targets. System E: Xenobiology Lab - Xenobiologist gets more flavor and gunsmiths the target. System F: Comm Office - Commlink masonry is permanent and can have three people in it.
