what are we talking about wrt firearms training here. afaik when you train to use a firearm you're practicing shooting things (presumably simulated people/animals) right? like you're not just training to use a firearm and bringing it with you and your group (squad? platoon?) to an armed protest just to brandish it around

isn't part of the deal with carrying a gun is the implicit threat of violence though? why carry it if you're not willing to use it
