Thinking of getting into Kill Team and found a local shop still has the Octarius box for $200. I understand I'll want to grab one of the space hulk boxes for the interior terrain, but are there any other big boxes that are good value vs just getting rhe teams? Seems like the ship terrain is mostly duplicated and the first wave is out of print

all of the boxes are good value if you want both teams and the terrain and the codex for those teams. unless they're marked up, they remain a decent discount as long as you want three of those things.

Thanks. I guess the questions are, are the space hulk boxes worth getting the couple extra bits of terrain for; are the old season boxes just gone; and does the recent inquisition/cult box have terrain with it?

Yeah I guess the question is spending like $100 getting the terrain, actual army books, and it's in the store at least while I don't think the new starter kit is. I've got some Star Wars Legion terrain which probably pulls double duty?

Thanks, I was very bored Sunday lol. Couple questions about the game:
-I understand tac ops have been massively erratad, is it possible to reasonably proxy the new ones with the old deck? The replacement just has one deck, right?
-On that note, what's a good recommendation for Vet Guard/Kommandos tac ops to get a handle on learning the game?
-Are any of the Into the Dark season boxes still available or am I gonna have to shell out like $150 for just the terrain?

Yeah what I mean is more that the game is very fun in the best or even the average case but the worst case really sucks, which is kinda problematic in a campaign game. But very much agreed the rules are infinitely more playable than 40k

Yeah, at this point it's easy to sidestep the issue of primaris marines by just making its framing device prior to 40K's present day. Put it during the sabbat crusade, second tyrannic war, something like that for bonus nerd baiting.

Doing that GW could get away with a sprue of some mk7 marines and one or two sprues of guard infantry (krieg or vostroyan maybe since they'd go with the auxilla tank selection pretty well?) if they're aiming for minimal additions. The admech disparity remains a mild issue but that's something GW's going to have to resolve sometime anyway, could well be planning on fixing with the LI version of the army for all I know.

Out of curiosity since I'm not that up on the lore, would subbing Leagues of Votann in for Squats (aesthetically at least) fit for Epic Armageddon?

Tomb Kings really don't have a chance in Warmaster either, despite being one of the only two armies available at initial game launch. They still have command issues like no initiative charges, and their basic infantry aren't worth the break point increase they give.

There's an active fan-community for it, which has maintained it as Warmaster: Revolution incorporating a lot of the improvements from Warmaster Ancients. It's very true to the original, and nearly every faction is extremely well supported by 3d prints, forumware, and garage castings.

It's also the skeleton around which nearly an entire generation of historical wargames was built - Everything in the Hail Caesar, Black Powder family to Blitzkrieg Commander can be traced back to it. It really is one of the best games to come out of GW.

Okay let's assume I'm stupid enough to do this, where's a good way to get armies in the US without access to a resin printer?* The rules look interesting- I like how movement is kinda abstracted, and I really feel like GW stuff just works better at a higher level of abstraction than counting individual guys with plasma guns. It is a little annoying that the army lists are very old fluff wise (wasn't this the first appearance of Tomb Kings ever?) and I'm not really sold on magic especially but also command seeming kinda swingy without good access to rerolls

Picked up a skitarii box for kill team. I know you can't really play them without sicarians, but I'm still trying to figure out how to build them. From what I've heard: leader, diktat, surveyor, arc/plasma gunners, and 2 troopers building all vanguards except the gunners. That should leave me with 3 extra bodies. I think you get a spare head for another leader build, and I wanna build the arquebus because its cool, then just get another trooper I guess? Maybe a ranger just to look different. Not sure if there's something else I should do, or what weapon loadouts for the leaders

EmanG, the demon STL guy, was also selling printed figures on Etsy.

Leaders should generally be Vans. (Rad-Saturation and the better version of the Martial Protocol ploy, versus access to the Pursuers ploy as a Ranger.) Always take an Arc Maul. Arc Pistol for marines and Gellerpox, Phosphor Blast for everyone else. (One of each of those two, I'd say.)

The leaders aren't good enough in melee to justify going for a Power Weapon and ofc their rifles are inferior. Taser Goad has some extremely limited situational use, against "heavy melee" units with fewer attacks and bad to-hit but high damage, but it's really not worth worrying about overmuch.

Gunners can honestly go either way. Pursuers is very handy for gunners, and either version of Martial Protocol is more or less comparably situational.

A single Ranger rank-and-file guy is arguably useful on ITD because of Uplinked Vid-Feed. I guess. It's not a big deal.

You do want an Arquebus gunner, just as a swap option. There are a few matchups where you just set up a firing line, like Gellerpox.

For your Sicarians, you want 3-4 Ruststalkers and 1-2 Infiltrators. I would need to sit down with a damage calc to tell you which of claws, swords, or Power Sword plus no-reroll-aura is better into common targets, though. Both Infiltrator guns are fine although you generally want all Ruststalkers except one Infiltrator for Concealed Position (and then boring mission tasks).

Thanks for the breakdown! Do you think you can get away with 1 box of sicarians built 4 stalkers 1 infiltrator then? Also I'm pretty sure I only get one arc maul, is there an easy kitbash or should one of the leaders get the taser instead?

Speaking of I'm being stupidly tempted to get some Warmaster armies even though I'm not quite sold on the gameplay (and I've already got one game I haven't played yet.) I like the larger scale and simpler rules, but it seems like there's a lot of high impact die rolls without many ways to modify them (wizard spells, commands especially for low command armies). Also it seems kinda fiddly positioning wise for something that zoomed out

As a result I constructed all options, including the three different Heavy Gunner options on different bodies (no magnets because their stances / attachment points on soul reaper cannon would have been annoying [plus I had the extra bodies anyway because why make even one Regular Guy]) in one box

I would add if you do have to choose what to do with your last two bodies definitely make the soul reaper cannon man. H. Bolter is fun for trying to double shoot and I admit I'm an absolute sap for trying that kind of spicy play but Soul Reaper is the default superior choice.

Yeah I really should learn magnets but I'm just too lazy for it now. I'll give the cannon a look then. The one thing I'm slightly hesitant about is I could use it if I end up trying to kitbash some thousand sons, but I can just give up on that idea (trying to find a single rubric spue instead of a full box)
