CRUSTY MINGE posted:E: full disclosure, I own 3 guns. A revolver, a bolt action rifle, and a .22 pistol that only holds 10rds. If you "need" an AR, what you really need is more range time. The 2nd Amendment is specifically for the ability to own weapons with the intent to use deadly force in combat. Not for a single 1v1 incident. Nobody needs that until you need that. And with world and American history being what is is, a lot of us don't want to be caught with our pants down. Sure its not 1850 anymore, but the world is not the nice place we try to project.

You are calling peoples "worries" as "fantasies", as if they are things we want to happen instead of things we fear happening. Fantasy also implies they are less than improbable, to which modern history has shown these fears to be probable and uncommon. When you do your 4x4 risk assessment it falls in the "Low Probability, Catastrophic Impact" square which requires additional mitigation.

Overall I think he’s meh/ok especially the Congress he had to work with, but kinda hoping for someone new. Get Fetterman as VP, put those rural white voters into play. This is just another case of old people liking to print stuff out onto paper instead of keeping it on the computer screen. Gotta read it in a folder and write notes on it and poo poo I guess. Being Vice President/President thats honestly expected, and having documents in his house is hardly surprising. What all the important things revolve around tend to be "Not deliberately sharing them with people who shouldn't see them" and "Not hiding that you made an oopsie", because they are very very experienced at tracking down and quantitating the size of the oopsie. And unless you did it maliciously often a spillage can be solved in a subdued manner. Playing fuckfuck games until you get a Subpoena for things you need to return to the office is much different. Not that you'd know that listening to FOX.

I do have to interject, Disney World Starwars park was really well done. The cantina, the rides, the immense care that the set team put into every railing and bit. I did get to go for free for a corporate event, so I wasn't soured by the prices. But to me that was an example of what Disney buying Lucas could have been, had it not been for all the bullshit they shoved into the movies and bad shows. The Cantina at Galaxy's Edge was full of delicious drinks and fun set pieces and was generally just joyful to experience as a guest. Galaxy's Edge and Andor have been the two good Star Wars properties in modern history.

If you do a ranking of the governments in the region it goes from bad to worse, including the Kurds, who are on the less bad side. I think some of that regressive internal pressure is gonna build into spring 2.0 at some point as global friction starts stressing regional tensions. Us being allies with Saudi Arabia and Israel is real bad though.
