Every year it feels like we've hit peak wrestling, every year the wrestling just keeps getting better! After ANOTHER phenomenal year of wrestling, which saw AEW hit over 100 successful Match of the Year Candidates and New Japan managed almost 60 all on its own, and almost 20 promotions got representation... well, it's a great time to be a wrestling fan! As in the last few years, the number of successful Worst Match of the Year Candidates was dwarfed by the good matches, because quite simply nobody has time for bad wrestling any more, and the overall quality from most promotions continues to be at remarkably high levels. Hell, even WWE has a somewhat positive back half of the year on these forums thanks to the stunning but long overdue ousting of Vince McMahon, who hopefully continues to seethe over the humiliation of an ignominous ending to his despicable career. With 2022 over, this thread is now the place to put in your nominations for the absolute best AND worst real-life pro-wrestling matches of 2023, as well as your recommendations for Honorable Mentions or just matches you think are worth people going out of their way to see. Obviously pre-2023 stuff won't go into the list for nominations for this year, but take the chance to expand people's horizons and let them know a bit more about wrestling from different times and places. HM: Miu Watanabe (C) vs. Trish Adora for the International Princess Championship - TJPW 2023 - 1/4 Miu rules and I am sure she is going to be Princess of Princess Champion by the end of the year. Her and Adora worked extremely well together, and I really dug that despite Adora being the much larger of the two, the back third of the match is Miu basically just dominating until she put her down.
