They just showed a slow mo of Head “Get hosed oval office, gently caress off” after the send off.

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.

We're all thinking it tbf

That said, they showed Head at short leg chatting to Siraj and I'm pretty sure one of them said "nothing personal"

Nathan Lyon had a pretty good Test: he bowled one over, faced six deliveries and took zero catches

I've just noticed the most hilariously pointless cricket stat ever:

Joe Root currently has 6² Test centuries and 8² Test half-centuries, making for a total of 10² 50+ scores in Tests. The dude is a Pythagorean triple right now.

Rather appropriate for a man named Root, really.

I do find it interesting how bad English cricket writers are.
95% of the time that England do well, it's because of failures of the opposition, and 100% of the time England do badly, it's because of the failures of England.

Dudes, I've been watching England fail miserably at cricket for 30 loving years. It's fine to just say "they were good" once in a while, you joyless cunts.

NZ finally making some changes and Conway is being replaced by Young, not because he only scored 20 runs so far this series but because he is unavailable.

I think the first test against New Zealand, England were good and in the second test New Zealand were bad

Comical end to the Tas v SA shield match. Tas chasing 429 on the last day were 5/400 with 26 balls left. Lost 4 wickets and needed 4 off the last ball. Mistimed the last ball straight to a fielder and rather than just settling for a draw the number 11 got run out going for a second run so Tas lost.

Was good for my bank balance though!

That said I don’t think they need to change anything, I think it was just a game where if you took the top 8-10 players by form it was mostly bowlers. Obviously Head had a great test but for both teams you have more faith in the bowlers than the batters (to the point I was slightly worried if Aus had to chase 80-100 in the last innings..)

I'd say NZ were bad in the first test when it mattered, they were just mediocre throughout the second.
