had lunch for my mom's birthday with the fam. show her the birds. she's a pretty good artist, does watercolor paintings of wildlife, won a couple of local awards at like the fair and poo poo. she's like oh you HAVE to paint these and walks out and hands me an unopened set of winsor and newton watercolors she got at one point and some paper so i'm making a swatch chart lol

I'm glad the practise I've put in over the years is showing! To be clear though I still think I can improve quite a bit in this department, which is part of the motivation for doing this series this December.
