I aim to marry my eye and my hand, with as little thought as possible between them. Like a meditative thing almost. Regardless, I'm stuck as stuck can be these days. Trying to just slop some paint onto paper every night.

Used white crayon for the lettering, couldn't see that the 'layered' Vs were so far apart haha... I'm drawn to geometric scenes but am scared to commit. I feel like they'll only work if I'm very precise, and I know that I lack both fundamental knowlege and certain technical skills. So I just go super loose instead. We picked a perfect night to catch a game at the new soccer stadium.

Went out to a state park to try some 'plein air' stuff. The time passes so quickly! I should've gone with a specific subject in mind. It did feel a little silly sitting on the rocks painting while everybody else frolicked in the gorge.

    Brainstorming ideas for a Tomato Fest gallery. I kinda have a thing for doing classic paintings, and even though I'm sure Salvatore Mundi has been used here before I think I can make it fun. Last year I did a riff on The Birth of Venus. Abstract stuff is so hard - why? cumpantry posted:the green transitions into... everything, so well. I really appreciate that! It's all thanks to keeping a messy pallette where everything runs together anyways..

Working though this Salvator thing. Blue overalls are more suited to the theme than robes. And blonde Jesus doesn't cut it. I feel like the idea is coming together, hoping I can preserve enough traces of the original to keep it recognizable.
