Shame Boy posted:expo70 has told me multiple times that growing up they were explicitly taught to hide their shameful northern accent, especially when talking to americans. which is extra funny because americans literally cannot loving tell the difference. i apparently have an excellent ear for accents and this is 100% not true. i won't shame anyone for an accent of course, but i can absolutely distinguish them
