I think everyone else has increased mechanical grip in the shock package which lets you peel off downforce, reduce drag, add speed, and reduced parasitic mechanical losses in the gearbox, differential, etc. There are a million other small things teams do to reduce weight and drag (replace every single steel or aluminum bolt or nut with titanium, fill every single crack with filler before the wrap, contour the actual bolt heads with air flow etc), but RLL's problems aren't those little things imo. I personally think its mostly the gearbox and mechanical losses.

There were several runs over the weekend where the cars were clearly on the absolute razor's edge. I think the weekend being clean was a combo of all the dice rolls working out and most of the field being legit good divers, which did not use to be the case.

Sato and McLaughlin at various times very nearly hit the wall where the safer barrier fades into concrete.
