Wouldn't mind seeing some guys restoring a car getting some comments from people who aren't already entrenched in the car forum. Wouldn't mind seeing a GBS poster start bike commuting interchange of ideas. The idea marketplace, and synergy.

The "post your real desktop" thread could get more than one post a month and people could exchange cool ideas about making a cool workspace... Cross synergy with the music forum and next thing you know you're seeing a trombone hanging above the desk. Its well known that information siloing is bad.

like why is the guitar thread literally in a subforum of a subforum? If it were here I would wager a fair few more goons would enjoy ogling the pics of guitars and try their hand at plucking a string or two themselves.

the guitar thread (a fairly common hobby) is within a subforum of a subforum lol. There are GBS posters and lurkers who don't know it exists i'm sure. and lurkers who would be pulled out of the shadows by these types of threads being in GBS.
