Why do they even call it kicking the bucket? What’s going on there? Is it because you’re mad about dying so you’re kicking whatever’s nearby “oh boo hoo my time on this mortal plane is over I’m gonna make a big mess for my kids to clean up” fuckin deal with it imo.

I was really only there for my maternal grandfather's death. None of them lived in the city I grew up in and my other grandparents died rather suddenly. He was pretty out of it in hospice when we got there but we had some lucid moments to say our goodbyes. It was depressing and dark but I'm glad I was able to be there for at least one of them.
