Pirates are the first NL team to 20 wins, just as we all predicted.

Next week vs the Rays is gonna be something. I gotta try really hard not to read too much into it no matter the results.

If the Pirates can win 1 game, I’d call it a success.

I think a team in Mexico City might have a problem signing free agent pitchers.

He came to the Cubs as a plus control BOR guy who sat low 90's and the Cubs decided they could raise his ceiling by tweaking his mechanics to add a bunch of velo, which worked and now he sits 94-96 and can touch 98, except the tradeoff is he can't put a pitch in a chosen zipcode, let alone over the plate.

But hey there's no way a competing team could afford to roster a guy like this if it meant taking away AB's from beloved veteran 1B Eric Hosmer.

Hadn't seen much Dansby Cubsposting in a while, so I decided to he how he's doing.

Yeah, the true Dansby experience is underway now. Red hot streak, followed by an 0-for-18. On pace for about 40 RBIs, 1 RBI in the past three weeks.

Feel relieved that it will get better eventually, maybe even for a couple of months. In that span, he's worth every penny. Then you're going to go right back to what he's doing now. Sorry. Them's the breaks.

i'll take elite defense and a .426 OBP.

I typically expect cubs hitters to go ice cold from time to time. That's how they do the grand strand or Chicago Strandjob.

The Twins being on this list as a respectable opponent for the WS champs is what I crave most.

Well, most right now. It pales compared to actual postseason success.

Also maybe the Reynolds extension is good? It’ll take more than that to make up for the last 20 years of penny pinching but at least it’s a sign something is different.

Every game was lost by 1 run and both teams had the exact same number of hits in the series. The Marlins are now 10-0 in one-run games and are 3 games above .500 despite having a run differential of -35.
