I don't think he should have been banned. But he told a 100% universally hated poster, yet forums massive money maker, to die so.... yeah.

Titanohyrax is an extinct genus of large to very large hyrax from the Eocene and Oligocene. Some species are estimated to have been as large as the modern rhinoceros. Estimates of body mass range from 600 kg (1,300 lb) to 1,300 kg (2,900 lb).

I have finally retired my iPhone 7 and I’m posting on my new iPhone 16. It’s very exciting but also kinda the same because I just loaded my phone onto my phone. There’s lots of apps I can have again now though, that the old phone couldn’t update to a new enough OS for.

There aren't any Cumberland Farms locations right around where I live but I went on a bike ride around Mount Wachusett a few days ago when it was cold and windy and got a craving for hot chocolate so I swung by one to get some

Yeah it’s just the environmental thing. I can’t believe we haven’t phased those out entirely yet.

I mean I can believe it, but it sucks.

All the fast food places have gone back to using plastic cups over paper although considering the rate at which we’re deforesting for Amazon boxes I’m not sure which is worse anymore. It all sucks and we’re doomed LOL

Can't even get an Amazon box anymore. They're mostly using mailers and envelopes.

Although if you buy some stuff they'll just ship it right in the original packaging. Usually to disastrous effect

Cross posting one of the funnier things I've read here

Captain Invictus posted:

See this shiny, wonderful, expensive lego set?

Why, that's a mighty fine lego set, you might say. You would be WRONG, because this lego set was shipped with "hassle free packaging" and has lost much of its contents.

You may have seen that on shipping options pages when checking out on a website, that you can save an entire dollar!!!! by shipping hassle-free. What is hassle-free shipping? It's just what you see above. The thing you bought, with a label slapped on it, and that's it. No box.

Imagine walking naked into a Crusher Factory, the type one might see in a sonic the hedgehog game or something. With all your vulnerable dangly bits at the mercy of the various Squishers, Mashers, and Pulverizers in the Crusher Factory, that's what you're doing with your item when you pick Hassle Free. You must resist THE SAVINGS, or your order will surely perish!

When I was a kid we would go out as a family for mexican food and I always got enchiladas.

I remember scorching my leftovers in those styrofoam containers and picking out rice and melted cheese from the sizzled styrofoam.

if you see a food truck handing out styrofoam, you know it's a safe bet. that's an owner who is willing to make the hard choices, sacrifice any amount of earth's future, for a bussin sandwich or taco

I recently picked up a big ol' box of Maruchan Cup Noodles and they FINALLY ditched the styrofoam. This has opened up a new opportunity for me to cook an egg right in the cup since now I can make it in the microwave. Previously, you had to put boiling water in the styrofoam cup and wait however many minutes. No way I could cook an egg that way. Now I can under-cook it slightly, drop an egg in, throw it back in the microwave to finish it.

My life has changed.

I had this very thing in mind and was going to make a thread along the lines of "post when something gets better for no reason" as a potential positive thread to balance out the other one but I figured it really wouldn't get much traffic since... well, everything.
