I have finally retired my iPhone 7 and I’m posting on my new iPhone 16. It’s very exciting but also kinda the same because I just loaded my phone onto my phone. There’s lots of apps I can have again now though, that the old phone couldn’t update to a new enough OS for.

There used to be a random Cumberland Farms in Englewood that some Massachusetts transplant must have opened just to have one. Whereas if I hit the Powerball I’m opening a Ground Round.

Yeah it’s just the environmental thing. I can’t believe we haven’t phased those out entirely yet. I mean I can believe it, but it sucks.

All the fast food places have gone back to using plastic cups over paper although considering the rate at which we’re deforesting for Amazon boxes I’m not sure which is worse anymore. It all sucks and we’re doomed LOL

Can't even get an Amazon box anymore. They're mostly using mailers and envelopes. Although if you buy some stuff they'll just ship it right in the original packaging. Usually to disastrous effect Cross posting one of the funnier things I've read here Captain Invictus posted:See this shiny, wonderful, expensive lego set?

When I was a kid we would go out as a family for mexican food and I always got enchiladas. I remember scorching my leftovers in those styrofoam containers and picking out rice and melted cheese from the sizzled styrofoam. I don't have cancer yet though

if you see a food truck handing out styrofoam, you know it's a safe bet. that's an owner who is willing to make the hard choices, sacrifice any amount of earth's future, for a bussin sandwich or taco

I recently picked up a big ol' box of Maruchan Cup Noodles and they FINALLY ditched the styrofoam. This has opened up a new opportunity for me to cook an egg right in the cup since now I can make it in the microwave. Previously, you had to put boiling water in the styrofoam cup and wait however many minutes. No way I could cook an egg that way. Now I can under-cook it slightly, drop an egg in, throw it back in the microwave to finish it. My life has changed. I had this very thing in mind and was going to make a thread along the lines of "post when something gets better for no reason" as a potential positive thread to balance out the other one but I figured it really wouldn't get much traffic since... well, everything.
