They wasted Luanne on Lucky!

She could of have been so much more but the writers just didn't care!

I was hoping the Pats would take JSN because “highly technical slot only guy” is kind of their thing. Or barring that an OT. But hell I can’t be mad at all about a trade back that still lands them Christian Gonzalez. What a refreshingly normal pick.

Also it shook the Jets and that’s always a lol

I didn't see it myself, but people reported that ESPN cut to the Jets draft room after the Steeler's pick was announced and there was total confusion.

I don't see that as much of a counterargument tbh, teams double up on positions all the time. If Gibbs was the top player on NY's board (and not saying he was, just for the sake of argument), they weren't going to say "well shucks, we already have a pretty good back, better pass on him for a dude we don't like as much," they'd say "Hell yeah, now we have two really good players with complimentary skillsets and insurance in case one of them gets injured."

They generally don't double up at the most fungible position on the field using valuable 1st rounders.

Short running backs have a proud history of success - Dion Lewis, Maurice Jones Drew, Danny Woodcock.

I think it's more Gen X/Millenials, but there's definitely a lot more 'You didn't follow the draft algorithm so even if your selections turn out to be hall of famers your draft was a failure' sentiment floating around than there used to be'. Like, people anymore just have a hard time accepting that the draft is a total crapshoot, and all that matters is that you beat the odds and walk away with good players.
