I ended up being on the other end of someone tearing their team down for Caleb. I traded 2 2024 1sts, 2 2024 2nds, 1 2025 1st, and 4.03 this year and got back CMC, Davante Adams, and Mark Andrews. And he was kind enough to let me keep 1.03 where I took Bryce Young. I probably only have the second best team after the trade but I can make a good run for it.

My god, that is a freakin' haul for both teams. CMC could end up being unreal this year and the other two are legit. The fact that you had all those picks to begin with is crazy.

Yeah I'm excited for it. This is the third year of our league and I've been in the basement the entire time. I had a stockpile of 2024 picks from a mini rebuild last year where I got a 1st and 3rd for Stafford and Pollard, a 1st for Javonte Williams, and traded Amari Cooper and Njoku for a 2nd each. Also had a couple extra 4ths and 5ths from some other random deals. And after moving all those picks it still leaves me with one pick in each round for next year's draft.

CMC/Adams/Andrews will go nicely with Jefferson and Garrett Wilson. And hopefully Bryce Young balls out because my other QBs are on the average to weaker side with Prescott/Love/Mac Jones (Dak should be fine but he threw a lot of picks last year so who knows).

In a 1QB league, Dak is fine. He'll be a low end QB1, but you got Bryce in the wings to hopefully upgrade down the line. With those skill positions, it should not matter.

Docjowles

Dak should be a low end starter but Fat Mike replaced his aggressive passing OC with Brian Schottenheimer and has been talking non stop about how he wants to run the rock like it’s 1985 so his ceiling may not be anything to write home about.

I swear I don’t hate all players in fantasy! Just seems like all the guys I am bearish on have been coming up ITT.

It's SF but yeah that's what I'm hoping on. I almost traded one of Mac/Love for Henry, it didn't work out but I might revisit it at a later time. I could use another good RB but Henry scares me, he should have fallen off a cliff a couple of years ago. Having good QB depth is also a good thing. Half the teams are desperate for a QB so that's a nice little advantage to have.

Thats awesome. Doing that kind of stuff it what has me loving playing dynasty. Thats part of why I made that post about Crashing For Caleb with the orphan I took on. I'm proud of managing to do a bunch of trades to go from having three picks this year and all my normal picks in the future to having 7 picks this year (will let me fill up my Taxi Squad) and a bunch of extra picks in the future. I'm hoping to go from having no QBs to having Stroud, Caleb, and someone else I scrounge up somehow. I'd still like to move Sutton and Boyd for some future mid round picks and I might even try to sell Dobbins if he has a strong start to the year.

edit: I'm hoping Hooker falls to me at 3.02 but I dont think he will.

Yeah...and I no one is going to trade a better QB without me giving up a lot. I'm probably going to hope for some luck that Mac turns it around and/or Love ends up actually being good.

My rookie draft just finished up this morning. Hooker went 2.05. It might cost you filling up your taxi squad, but maybe you could package some of the picks you have to move up into the 2nd round. Or if Hooker doesn't fall to you, there are some guys available in the later rounds that probably won't be good but might be usable eventually.

The one thing I really wanted to do but couldn't pull off in the draft was give up more in that big trade I posted earlier and get 2.09 back so I could take Hyatt there. The other guy wouldn't budge on that part though. We had a total of 9 trades during the draft.

You mean his 2024 second right?

And Hyatt is my favorite receiver in this class. Didn't have my highest grade, just was the most loving fun.

Auction talk: I'm trying to figure out ESPN's conversion algorithm because its flaws always lead to some bizarre steals at several key spots. I think they switched to a tier-based formula for their QBs and that's left some no-ring-sized gaping holes:

Mahomes/Allen/Hurts: Mid $30s
Burrow/Jackson: $18-20
Fields/Herbert: $8
Everyone else: Under $5

I'm worried because this is so detached from actual human closed-economy behavior that I can't really give advice. Like, obviously you should get Burrow at $21 or Fields at $9 or TreeLaw at $5, but there's no way that's going to be their AAV. There's no way someone is going to bid a top 3 guy up to $35, lose, and then pass at Burrow for $15 less. There's no way someone is going to bid up to $20 for Lamar, lose, and then let Lamar 2.0 Fields go for under $10.

It just doesn't make market sense.

I bought in a little bit with Hyatt with you and Doltos constantly talking him up but the draft gives me doubts and the fact that he ended up on the Giants in the third round means I will be letting someone else take that gamble.

3rd round receivers can safely be skipped. The hit rate is something like 4% for fantasy relevance.

Right but whats the hit rate for everything else? This looks bad in a vacuum but is RB or TE any better? This is all gambling at a casino anyway.

I'm not trying to say "Smash draft Hyatt" but I've never actually looked at the numbers.

In general my rule of thumb is QBs should have first round capital, WRs round 1-2, RBs 1-3, TEs are random

Your writeup on Rice doesn't mention that he played the season on a broken toe that sapped his speed. Before the broken toe here are his stats

Maryland had a first round and second round DB on their team. He roasted them.

No, it's actually my 2024 2nd that's been traded around a couple times.

Anybody have any thoughts/insights on DeWayne McBride? With the news that the Vikes are likely going to part with Cook, it seems like he could luck into a great opportunity.

I’m on the clock early in round 4 and can’t decide if I want to reach a small bit. I guess at this point in the draft it’s all a bit of a crapshoot, but still.
