The due date is November 21st, but thankfully the NC Utilities Commission says that our power can't be disconnected on Fridays, weekends, holidays, or the days before holidays, so we actually have until November 24th. My brother came up and paid off almost half of it, but that still leaves $462 that we have to cover somehow. I'm exercising every means I have to deal with this thing, so I put in a request. However much you can give, I will be forever thankful. Due to the capitalist hellhole we live in, money is a measure of how much change you can effect in the world, and the US Goon Fund choosing to share that with everyone who makes requests makes you folks some of the greatest people I know. An update on this: thanks to help from family and friends, I was able to chip away at the disconnection charge enough that the gift from the Goon Fund will be able to completely pay it off. Thank you so much, again, for everything you've done for me and others. Long live the US Goon Fund!

If you have any requests due out through 12/1, I've processed everything I can in order to try and minimize the holiday and weekend interference. As a reminder, tomorrow is a bank holiday (as if you don't know already idk) so your funds could take an extra day to be processed out from whatever app you're using for your requests. Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. I am grateful for the Goon Fund, its committee members, its supporters, and for all of you who've trusted us to provide you with a little relief. Holidays are difficult for a lot of reasons -- I've come to feel somewhat miserable around Thanksgiving/Christmas myself -- but you all give me reason to feel at least a little uplifted.

OCTOBER 2025 US GOON FUND FINANCIALS Props to RQC for jumping on this. A crazy month! Pretty serious need, we paid $12k out and had a few very generous people jump in at some crucial points to help out with one-off donations. Full disclosure: I did a little fucky-wucky, an oopsy-poopsy, and accidentally paid some rando $40 because I am a white burgerdevil and anglicized a goon's name in their payment handle like of course I did. I sent the fund money to cover and RQC has messaged said rando about maybe getting it back (not crossing fingers here). YTD STATS:   Per my post last month, we have now passed $100,000 in both donations and fulfillments. Collectively we are all figgie-touchers now. That's crazy, man. COLOR COMMENTARY    From a clear nadir in September of last year it's been nothing but Number Up across the board here. We are grateful to all the generous goons who jump in to backstop us when we make the call. I hope all goons feel comfortable reaching out if they ever have a need. As always, I will reiterate that whatever your situation, just ASK and we will do our best to accommodate. The worst we can say is "No but you can have $100." There is not and never will be means testing, and we're doing our best to steward the resources we have.

I actually had to have this conversation (sort of) when I first got hired into my current job, since it's the sort of job that needs to get outside activities like charity work pre-cleared for conflict of interest reasons. No one batted an eye, at least in my presence.

I can barely even tell there's so much obfuscation) that makes this logistically impossible. If any one goon has a specific United Way local that they're interested in setting up a donation through, please reach out via PM or email us and I'm happy to tryu to give it a shot. but there's no "blanket" application for All United Ways, unfortunately.
