I thought I might try another android tablet because a 128 GB Samsung S6 Lite was on sale at Bestbuy for $330.00. I tried it for one day and then returned it, fully charged and with the latest OS update. Holy poo poo, it is not a good tablet. Compared to an entry level iPad it is slow and janky. Android as an OS pisses me off because it has always feels like the IT department at work; we'll get around to servicing your request. An entry level iPad loving responds when I want it too. And then there are the apps; if you want to use an Android tablet for drawing or producing music, good loving luck finding a decent app. Apple is absolutely the cream of the crop for good apps for creatives. tldr: Samsung tablets are still poo poo compared to iPads.

i got a new ipad recently and its definitely very nice for reading the web and watching tv and movies etc., much better than a computer or phone. but the app store is a much more depressing experience than it used to be. when i first got an iphone years ago there was all kinds of fun games and physics toys and cool education/information apps that you could get either for free or for like $2-3 and just immediately start playing with. now every single thing requires a subscription plan, you have to buy each individual feature within the app, and you need to sign in with your apple/google/facebook account. one game i downloaded wouldn't let me play unless i signed in with a "netflix games" account, which i didnt even know was a thing. i hate that poo poo so much.

Back in the day work tried to mandate a “tablet Tuesday” where they gave everyone an android tablet and told us to try to figure out ways to get as much work done as possible with them. The best idea anyone could come up with was attaching a keyboard to that garbage and using it as a dumb terminal. Crapple for life. At least their stuff is only mostly useless.

I have an Ipad Mini that I use mostly as a viewfinder for cameras and drones. It also comes in handy when i'm traveling and dont want to bring a laptop but want to browse the internet for any amount of time. I kinda want the most recent updated one but

Those days are long gone. An entry level iPad is complete overkill for the average user and file transfers are super easy. E:you can run Stable Diffusion locally on an entry level iPad. Zbrush is subscription only now, but Nomad Sculpt is a one time purchase. Photoshop is subscription only, but Affinity Photo/Procreate are a one time purchase. Premier Pro is subscription only but LumaFusion is a one time purchase. I like my lenovo yoga tab. It's got a stupid name but it's got a unique shape and it's very loud and was quite cheap Tablets are almost entirely some stupid poo poo because why would I need big glass rectangle when I've got small glass rectangle?? That's why I bought a tablet that looks a little different, it makes me feel okay that I own it
