https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwO8mFNIbNk "The whole album was recording onto analogue tape, utilising over fifty tracks on several multitrack recorders." Regardless of your teen-like genre affiliations and twisted scenes, this is really great. Its an amazing musical work. Wee fucked around with this message at 17:40 on Jun 9, 2023 |

Saw them live recently and they did a cover of SOD's Speak English or Die, but changed the lyrics to Speak Spanish or Die. I appreciate the effort, but Spanish is an imperialist language too. Should've been Speak Arawakan or Die. Speak Quechua or Die would've also been acceptable.

Fantastic album that I have tried to work into so many mix CDs and party playlists over the past 20 years and was met with almost universal confusion/disgust. Goodbye Sober Day is still one of my favorite songs.

Mr. Bungle is an excellent gateway drug into weirder poo poo like Fantomas and Secret Chiefs 3 On their 16th birthdays, all my neices and nephews will receive a copy of California, a copy of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, and a copy of Significant Other

I think I liked the self titled more. Maybe because I heard it first, maybe I just like circusy poo poo. A lot of good tracks on California, Pink Cigarette is my go to.

The show was a Secret Chiefs 3 show, not many other ways to describe it. Excellent.

Kooky heavy rock album filled to the brim with samples from pornographic video tapes. Guess it depends on what you mean by accessible. It does have mostly rock and roll instruments.

Old Lady Drivers have a similar history, early fun/grindcore later clown noise and they were nastier and better IMO. Bungle's Disco Volante is cool though.

it is a great album but my favorite project from that whole scene is Secret Chiefs 3. it was started by Trey Spruance but all kinds of people show up in it (including most of the rest of Mr Bungle)

I still can't believe I actually saw Mr. Bungle live a couple of weeks ago, and they are all seemingly normal humans. At this point, at least.
