I ignored Raised Fist until 60 hours into the game on what must have been 100+ attempts to beat the first deck on purple chip. I've reached scientific notation in this game but am still learning things — so many early on situations where it could have kept me going on long enough to figure out a replacement. Such an incredible game. I'm still certain though that Superposition is definitely absolute dogshit and that anyone whose stats show it as their most used Joker would have to be a loving alien. I've been getting up the first few decks to golden. I've gotten Red and Blue up to unlock gold stake, but no dice. I'm trying to beat orange stake on yellow deck now, but it's rough. These higher difficulties feel like there's no chance unless you get something strong enough to survive at the start, which isn't super fun in a challenging way. Anyone have any general purple/gold tips, especially for yellow deck?

What have everyone found to be the easier or harder decks to beat on higher stakes? So far I've beaten Blue Deck, Yellow Deck, and Anaglyph Deck on gold stake. I am working on gold stake for Red Deck and Green Deck, but I have had no luck beating that final difficulty yet. Some of these get a little weird and I wanted to check what strategies or pitfalls people have figured out. I can't tell if I'm stupid for trying to go for straights with the Painted Deck. The higher hand size is so helpful, but there are so many different boss blinds that drop you right in your tracks if specialized. No repeat types of hands? Well, gently caress your Card Sharp. Only one hand at all? Good luck. Cards drawn face down? Embarrassing and deadly.

I'll try to stick to the fundamentals and keep trying, one out of a handful of times I manage to get a decent/acceptable +Multi on the first shop or two. Ariong posted:I mean it’s not perfectly optimal, but it’s still really really good. The blueprint copies the pants and then applies the x1.5 to its own flat mult bonus. So if your pants are up to +10 then you get (10 * 1.5) + 10 = 25 mult. After that every two pair you play works out to an additional 5 mult. The biggest issue at that point is winning too fast and thus missing out on scaling. Why did you predict that you would die with this extremely powerful early combo? And how did you die? I fell into the issue of winning too fast and missing out on scaling. Current game, much more careful about not squandering stuff. ![]() EDIT: Newer run has me set up in a good spot. Thank you for the comprehensive feedback Ariong, that's all really helpful. Mystic Summit is a bit embarrassing, I'm so used to Raised Fist as a +Multi that I forgot the polychrome makes ideal placement different. Splash was indeed the lease bad thing in a pack (only one to not be an eternal rental) I believe that I was upgrading my hands, but it probably wasn't as much as needed because my money situation was abysmal. I did have a few +Multi upgrades on my Queens. Upgrading them looks like an even bigger priority than I already thought. The difference in score from hands with upgraded Queens and the hands with plain jane Queens was very noticeable. Glass remains essential. Ariong posted:[*]Photograph benefits from enhanced non-face cards like mult, lucky, and glass cards getting scored before your first face card, but Half Joker means you can only have up to two of those. If you’re going for three of a kind then you can’t have any because the first card scored will always be a face card. This is interesting and much clearer explained than most places online. I knew enough to put glass cards last, but not that the interaction order would work the same for Photograph. Half Joker was a move of last resort and all of that worked together poorly, but my offerings were low and I was super tired. Whole run was a mess and I was reaching that Ante 5 moment where you start to panic because I had no +Multi (so far, everything had been perishable) and bought the Ramen before Blackboard (which I'm usually more comfortable with) came after next round. The best Blackboard synergy for me so far has been Stuntman. Stuntman also works well with Raised Fist. Contender for my favorite card. Speaking of... ![]() I'm not running flushes this run, but used a card to create a joker and got The Tribe. I actually would love some input on what kind of hands would be ideal for this setup. Would it be for larger hands, like 3OAK, Full House, Straights, or Flushes? ![]() Here's my situation with planet upgrades. So far, economy jokers have all been rentals, so it's been a bit limited. I didn't know that early on you may want to go for an economy joker first, but it makes sense.

One joker makes all cards face cards, one gives a multiplier to face cards, another makes all face cards gold, ect. 4OAK is the best. Keep trying until you get a Mars for sale in the first Ante. It allows you to beat the first boss and the second Ante boss with a single hand. Hold onto Deaths to turn cards into each other, since if you can only get 3OAK in a round, there's always an out by using Death. Tarot cards that give +4 Multi and +30 Chips can also keep you alive early on, and as you progress, eventually you shift to Steel cards and eventually Glass. Red Chip cards can make a huge difference, especially on top of Glass. Don't spend money early on, you can clear the first Ante without any modifications with some luck. But, buy any Death or Mars that comes up. It took me an hour or two. At first it is a nightmare, but eventually the mechanics start to click and it all comes down to luck and skill. You can do it! Getting gold stickers on all these Jokers is brutal.

I caved and bought the phone version to play alongside my wife before bed, and it's awesome. Pixel Fold looks great open, and looks great even with the small "normal" screen aspect ratio. I didn't figure out how to get it to expand until dozens of great hours later. Sometimes, rarely, I'll flick something into oblivion by mistake - but that's deff only a thing when I'm on heavy sleeping meds. It's been fun playing all over again, and seeing what its like to not have ~20 clutter jokers constantly spawning instead of core ones I prefer. Lack of instant restart isn't that bad, and it's made me appreciate lower stakes more. EDIT: The fact that Gros Michel will not get a gold stake sticker if it explodes in the final round is cruel.

Does the game have some sort of evil algorithm that decides which joker is duplicated by Invisible Joker, or does it seek out eternal negative jokers and/or stuff that is loving useless to have multiple of (like Astronomer) instead of numerous alternatives (Photograph, Hanging Chad, Brainstorm, Blueprint)?
