I finally managed to limp my way past the ante 11 boss blind to reach ante 12 and unlock a ticket I probably won’t ever use! Hooray for unlocking stuff! I thought I was screwed because my Candavish went poof but then I pulled the joker that copies the one to its right and put it next to Yorick for dual 5x multipliers. You’d have to have some kind of absolutely nutty setup to get further than that. The only things I haven’t unlocked are on legendary joker, the ones for scoring 100m chips, having $400, and discovering every planet card because I can’t loving get a drat Flush Five!!! I also need to unlock the ticket for dropping your hand size to five, I’m not sure how you’d even do that tbh.

I’m not even sure how to play a hand that huge. The best I’ve done is maybe like 14m and it involved a lot of weirdness with polychrome and glass face cards being triggered multiple times by jokers/red seals and I think it was The Needle so the card for retriggering cards in your last hand plus the 3x multiplier one triggered all at once. Didn’t even plan it that way!

Beat gold stakes with the Zodiac Deck  I really can’t get those crazy high scores without something like Hanging Chad/Brainstorm (negative) on a holographic glass face card with smiley joker. I also had constellation at over 5x and driver’s license plus I got Rocket early on so I had basically infinite money. Oddly enough, none of my jokers were foil/holographic/polychrome, maybe I would’ve gotten even further if they had been.I’m not sure which deck to do next… the only other one I’ve beaten with gold stakes is Ghost Deck.

I wish four fingers/smeared joker/shortcut were a better combo, but unless they’re all holographic or polychrome, and you have massively leveled up straight flush, you’re losing out on valuable multipliers. Smeared joker is probably better for the forbidden hands (that’s what I call flush house/5-of-a-kind/flush 5, don’t judge me!)

I sure love having a good run all the way to the end of Ante 8 only to have Violet Vessel and poo poo luck. Yeah, I could get 1.2m chips if multiple of my glass cards showed up at once, which of course they didn’t. This is on Orange stakes, I suppose it’s not as bad as gold

If, after that, the joker debuffs or needs to be sold, no problem; it was just there to help me get my foot in the door. Eternal jokers are immune to being destroyed by spectral cards and Madness which means they are extremely good, actually. Just be picky about which you take and you’ll be fine.

lol I was doing the challenge that reduces your hand size the more money you have and had a really good setup going, then at the ante 7 boss I played a lucky card that triggered the $20 and instantly lost the run, good times! Also I beat the ante 8 boss in the non-perishable challenge with like 100,354 chips, it was really close. I’m glad those challenges use the white stakes requirements, I’m so used to gold stakes that it makes it feel like easy mode.

Hearts are purpley, diamonds are orangey, spades are blue-grey and clubs are green-grey. I think spades and hearts do get solid colours if you're playing high-contrast mode but not by default.
