If you're talking about having an AVR this assumes it's an active sub. Cabling is good but has anyone accidentally flicked the gain knob on the sub whilst dusting or something? Maybe the crossover knob?

I can't be the only person that thought all versions of chromecast were rear end from a user standpoint?!

Extron XPA 1002 perhaps? We've used them at work for 15+ years and I'm yet to see one die. I'm seeing them 2nd hand for £50 these days so depending on what your local market is saying it's worth a look. Buy a shelf for your rack, pop it on, forget about it for a decade.

They come in 4 configurations, 1002 does 60w per channel, 1002 Plus does 100w. Then there's a couple of line options for both 70v and 100v ceiling speakers denoted by the name eg; XPA 1002 70v.

Yeah you're after passive 3.5mm speakers. They're not easy to find but also not impossible.

DSD is just a lossless format like FLAC, WAV etc... It isn't inherently better than other lossless formats because there's multiple standards of DSD and those other formats can also match the sample rate of DSD in a lot of cases.

It looks like Traktor and Ableton don't support DSD without some messing around anyways, so I'm just gonna drop the idea entirely

DJ software sometimes doesn't even like the formats it's supposed to read so yeah, good idea :v:

One of my work colleagues was yabbering about tech the other day and he said all his Samsung products had been poo poo. I'm sat there like I know, buddy. I know. They used to be OK like 15 years ago but now, e-waste.

My cousin is looking for a set of bookshelf speakers with Bluetooth. Any decent option out there for not a whole stack of cash?

Solid question. This is his first foray into speakers and will be bought as a gift for him so low end of the market, probably ~$150

I have a set of M-Audio monitors I've been using for years and am happy with and I see they do a set with BT.

I can definitely second the Edifier recommendation. I have the non-powered version of these and they work great:

Slightly above your budget though.

I'm in the UK anyway so availability of branding may vary, I jus wanted to see if there was a general consensus. I did take a quick look at the Edifiers, there's a few options. 1080, 1280, 1380, 1700, MR3 and MR60 which are varying money up to 160. MR3s and MR60s look pretty slick.
