Hey guys sorry I hope I'm not intruding on this subforum but I have a question and maybe some of you have more military experience might be familiar. there's been some footage out of this conflict that I have questions about.

What is best practices when you're a tank columns to prevent ATGM fire and how badly of a gently caress up is it on the part of the column that ATGM teams manage to make it within 100 feet of your armour? is there a field manual that says 'try to prevent enemies from getting within a certain number of feet from your tank' I'm genuinely curious.

how big of a gently caress up is it for infantry (around 30 or so ) to bunch up within 2 feet of each other and not notice a small drone dropping an anti-personnel grenade from barely 60 feet over their heads in the middle of them in an active warzone?

I'm genuinely curious what your experiences might be and how for example an american team would handle that.

anyways, if I'm asking stupid stuff I apologize and will buzz off.

sharing this since you guys are military heads

Qassam put out an informational video about their hand-placed anti-tank weapon, why they use it and it's specifications, along with a demonstration. along with footage of several merkavas being knocked out by it.

https://x.com/TurkiShalhoub/status/1720466927519244734?s=20

it's made to be placed right next to the merkavas munitions magazine.

they gave some statistics, it weighs 3 kilograms, 50 CM tall 105 mm wide, it was made in Gaza, and they say it can penetrate 60 cm of hard steel armor.

so it's not a weapon of desperation its on purpose to be placed by hand.

hey guys, I dont know what the policy is about posting combat footage of tanks getting blown up, so I wont post it, however on aljazeera, hamas just released what I can only describe as some of the most insane combat footage I have ever seen

1) they say in the last 24 hours hamas destroyed 25 IDF vehicles and tanks.

2) they announces that they're using a TBG RPG, which is a thermobaric missile that is essentially a room clearing RPG to clear out entire rooms of IDF whenever they try to set up frontal operating bases. Along with footage of operatives going out of a tunnel, spotting an IDF unit set up in an apartment room, then using said Thermobaric munitions to light the room up completely then the strike team made it back to their tunnels.

3) he then shows a bunch of clips of Hamas fighters constantly getting to within 15 feet or zero distance of several israeli tanks and destroying them, including the latest billion dollar merkavas, absolutely insane footage. they are always at point blank range. it's loving insane.

4) one of the shots is a hamas fighter CLIMBING AN IDF BULLDOZER , lighting it on fire and planting a flag on it.

None of the IDF tanks have infantry around them at all, literal sitting ducks. there's like five tanks in a row, and the hamas guys can walk to within 15 feet and shoot all of them.

I'll post pure military updates here, because I'm very curious what the military types here think of this.

A lot of people here tend to avoid detailed descriptions of stuff due to potentially causing issues with trauma, a fair amount of people here have gotten shot at/shot at people.

As long as you're not posting combat cam videos and avoiding posting gore, you can talk about the situation in Gaza just fine. Just don't go too detailed about how people got killed or describe the exact condition of dead people and you're fine.

Ok noted thanks

Hamas puts out an informational video about their TBG room clearing RPG that they use to clear out israelis from apartments they try to hole up in, double warhead, one for penetration, the other for the inside of the room targeted.

Hamas has put out a statement, they claim that over the 12 days since the beginning of the ground combat, they have destroyed 136 vehicles of the IDF.

They also just released more incredible footage just now. This is by far their most stunning footage they've released.

it includes

two tanks that are parked right next to each other literally touching each other getting blown up, and it seems like it caused a chain reaction because one of them might have blown the other one up.

a shot of them wiping out Israelis holed up on a school building room with a TBG thermo rpg

A triple diagonal kill where 3 guys knock out 3 tanks that literally had them surrounded from 2 sides.

they had two cameramen filming the same shot where there was what looks like two vehicles, an APC and a Merkava, with an IDF soldier standing on top of them they shot the KONKURS missile at it, then captured the total Vaporization of the tanks and the IDF trooped from close up cam and far away cam.

in all of those instances, except I think the Konkurs one, they were always between 100 feet away from their target. and almost always were safe enough afterwards to withdraw.

Also it started with a shot of a building operating as a front base for the IDF, surrounded by dozens of tanks, fortified by sand, only for the building to get vaporized by heavy mortar artillery. and their tank concentration getting shelled by heavy mortars.

So I saw this footage released by the Israelis, and to my non-military eyes their soldiers are randomly firing at empty buildings while cowering behind a tank, it's supposed to make them look good but it's the most embarassing and non-professional three stooges level of fighting I have ever seen from a '1st world' military, half the time they're randomly running and cowering it makes them look really stupid and bad and it really reveals how so many of them keep getting got when they're bunched up like this, they're not even lining up or taking proper positioning the way I would see american marines would for example.

Aslo, the empty building they're shooting at has perfect line of sight to their bunched up troops, you might as well surrender if your enemy actually has that clear a sight past your tanks.

Also not a good look when you have a quadrillion tanks but you enemy are able to get close enough to attack you with small arms:-

30 million dollar tank destroyeed by 200 dollar munition placed by hand

https://twitter.com/aja_egypt/status/1726222079865807103?s=46&t=kY7HKwmb1RBg9U186lxtbg

- 4 minutes of combat footage released by Hamas, more zero-distance tank destroying and hand-placed anti-tank charges footage

- Incredibly, theres footage of them actively liberating Al-Rantisi Childrens hospital from the IDF, and capturing quadruple the amount of IDF weapons and Uniforms in the hospital than the israelis found in all of Al-Shifa hospital.

Also, the Houthis of Yemen have captured an Israeli Shipping boat in the red sea that was disguised as a Bahamian Ship

new details out

- The houthis performed a helicopter raid to take over the ship, they flew there and rappelled their guys onto the ship to take it over

- there were 56 crew on board

really impressive work by the houthis, I thought they wouldve gone the speedboat route.

I thought updating you guys with news of whats happening in this thread without injecting my personal and objectively correct opinions would be interesting since you guys are military heads so you would bring a new insight into the military aspect of the war. Since theres alot of unprecendent stuff happening militarily (gliders, hand-placed ATGM, urban warfare, etc) and im interested in hearing peoples thoughts on them from various angles.

Since i know you guys dont share my views im not coming in here swinging about how awesome hamas and the palestinian resistance is, and im not trying to make a case for a side one way or the other because im being respectful to this subforum.

Anyways, i wont post here anymore news or what i find if that makes you feel better.

Hey guys remember that IDF doofus who pointed at the normal calendar with days of the week written on it and said that's a list of terrorist operatives?

Turns out that guy is an Admiral and is the head of their version of the navy seals.

The fact that the guy who runs their special forces program cant even read arabic to know what the days of the week is, in a place where every enemy he faces speaks the same language with a little farsi, really ought to tell you why the IDF got clowned on.
