There's apparently some interest in me posting dev logs about my space game so I feel like a blog is the best way to do it (I don't want to have to put my nerd voice up in videos), how the heck do people do blogs nowadays? do I host my own domain and use wordpress? probably idk sounds like a vector for attack tho

I very infrequently blog on my uni homepage, which is a hugo site and thus an enormous pain in the rear end at every turn so I rarely do it anymore, so unless you really want to customise every aspect of it I wouldn't recommend that pathFarmer Crack-rear end posted:could just sign up at dreamwidth yeah was gonna suggest this or sdf but maybe sdf is too low-tech and you'd want something with, like, a way to subscribe to new effortposts or something

well I registered a domain and set up on GitHub pages for now. apparently the tls cert or whatever hasn’t gone through so it says “not secure” in every web browser but I suppose it doesn’t matter because im just going to serve up static pages? any security stuff I should know before going public well anyway I have a place for my blog now.

I used to use openshift because they used to give you a gig of storage for free, and this was super useful to me for a while, above and beyond what heroku offered, but I think they axed that part of the service completely lol I’d prolly use GitHub as a cheap and lazy option too yeah. or cohost or sdf or tumblr or medium or w/e lol

use sdf silver alicorn. whether you want to do a static page generator deal or gopher and then use an http translator is up to you though fwiw my personal website is a static generator and github pages rather than sdf
