Watched the Not Just A Goof. And christ - Steven Martin as Goofy was a loving terrible idea and glad they pushed back against it.

I know right? Glad the doc didn't pull any punches when it came to corporate politics at Disney. Seemed like A Goofy Movie was an unwanted bastard project, even more so after Katzenberg was fired.

However, Steve Martin should voice the inspector in the pink panther movie where they mix the cartoon with closeau.

I wonder if there's, like, a compilation of authors telling all about Disney's bullshit practices somewhere. I know Alex Hirsch complained about them, loudly, but there's more than that and this documentary.

I feel like they're more willing to talk about bullshit when Katzenburg is involved because he's basically a sworn enemy of the company. You likely wouldn't hear as many horror stories about executives being morons if they were still active with the company. Katzenburg absolutely sucks but he's also the kind of target Disney allows itself to take potshots at.

Katzenberg had the last laugh though, sitting pretty on his Quibi empire. Heck, all I do these days is watch those quibis, can't get enough quibis!

In Kevin Perjurer's excellent Jim Henson documentary series, he talks a bit about the initial attempted deal for Disney to buy the Muppets. (This has nothing to do with how Disney actually ended up owning the Muppets decades later.) This was after Labyrinth had flopped so Henson wasn't in the best position, but the deal fell through for two particular reasons: Eisner wouldn't stop talking about wanting the Sesame Street characters (which were specifically not part of the deal), and Katzenberg was just a loving rear end in a top hat the entire time, chiding Henson for his failures and basically trying to bully him into a bargain.

I'm interested, Puss in Boots and Croods 2 were both really fun movies.

By the way, following up from the original Archie vs Predator that's not the original Archie there, that's the teenage Predator who mortally wounded Archie after killing most of the cast including Sabrina and Salem while stalking Betty and Veronica, and then was captured by them and surgically altered into a replica of Archie.

hell yeah I love when writers have a really stupid concept and just go whole hog on it rather than try to somehow reign it in
