memorable moments are currently 1) having one squadmember barely standing, with three dead, which included two mechs, and two bleeding out being considered "good" during debriefing 2) responding to a terror attack in which the map spawned a military base with tanks

Hey, you've fought 2 wars against the aliens with me and I'm happy to know you're picking up some solo jobs!

Xcom really is fun as poo poo, I maybe burned myself out doing some days where I played for Luke 10 hours grinding missions. But it's also pretty easy to spend an hour on a mission just trying to make cool moves happen.

I didn't record enough, but there were a lot of cool kills I don't save

i played it a lot years ago, but i think i fell into a bad habit of save scumming. game is a lot more interesting on ironman, since dealing with a terrible situation is the best part of the game imo

the terror missions are especially tense since i can't really fall back on the tried and true tactic of waiting for the aliens to walk into our line of fire

still haven't failed a single mission yet, but lost a whole lot of troops, equipment and aircraft.

I deffo replayed a lot of missions for the 2 series. I didn't wanna lose anyone and final missions are a last effort and losing people then is okay, but like some randomly bad move killing someone on a civilian extraction mission was worth restarting and replaying the ten minutes of it.

Ironman was something I considered, but as a thread to invite people it seemed kinda bad to like 'oops, sorry you died because i misclicked or just wasn't paying attention'

XCOM is super fun anyways

i wouldn't have minded! but, yeah, misclicks are the worst wrt ironman

i ended up having to sacrifice my highest ranking soldier during the whale mission, which gave the rest of the team enough room to escape; never would have done that if i could reload
