This manga is loving awesome.

I get at least one thousand times more excited for a new chapter of Kagurabachi compared to a new chapter of JJK. Is this a commentary on the steadily declining quality of JJK? Or on the incredible quality of Kagurabachi? Read it today and find out for yourself...

this series kicks insane levels of rear end

This series kicks rear end. The paneling and imagery during action sequences are top notch. The drat fish get me every time.

The author still has a weird issue with vector graphic looking talky panels with those rectangle mouths, BUT the action is sick, the sword stuff is cool AF, and there is a lot of very very cool paneling and inking on the action stuff. I gotta hand it to him, this poo poo might last!

It's really good. Art can be a bit rough at times but even from the beginning where its popularity was sort of a meme and people were deriding it as a cheap Bleachlike, it seemed to me like a series with a lot of potential. I think it will probably be one of the series to rise up and fill the gaping hole that Jump is about to have as MHA, JJK and even One Piece wind down to an inevitable end. I really appreciate that we're almost 40 chapters in and we've gotten a nice dripfeed of lore and backstory, but the plot isn't in a hurry to get anywhere in particular.

I haven’t noticed the art being rough, but I do think there’s an issue that some of the character designs are too samey. The members of the Tou mostly blur together for me for example (with one obvious exception).

Frightening how quickly this has come to genuinely own this arc has been great

Kagurabachi is a pretty solid case for just letting newbies cook for more than like 1 loving volume before telling them they're axed. The series looks like nothing special to start out besides some decent art, but what do you know- when you give it a couple volumes to define its characters and conflicts it suddenly stops being a meme!

This manga is so good holy poo poo. That page of Hakuri just sitting there while he drops live grenades on the auctioneers is so sick. This is probably the best character turnaround I've ever seen.
this manga isnt blowing my mind but its a really solid action thing and it has a really good eye for 'cool' panels/composition. feelsl ike something that could really pop off if it keeps going/gets an anime
I will also sit in the camp where the art, paneling, and set pieces are pretty good. But everything else, the story, dialogue, themes, etc. is just okay. I don't think mind a series with great art with an okay story; I can imagine this as an anime to kick rear end.
Loved that frame of Hakuri too, so awesome. Also really liked this latest chapter. I agree though that generally the story isn't mind-blowing and I also had a hard time differentiating some of the characters. Can't wait to see where this story goes though.

I might have gotten a little wound up after hitting those last two chapter lol But yeah this is like the perfect material you let animators pop off on. Didn't they announce an anime already or did I imagine that?

TBH I don't think a western meme has anything to do with a JP comic getting more time, I think it just dodged early cancellation for whatever reason (an editor needed to fill a niche, nothing else prepped to go, popularity was just high enough that the axe fell elsewhere, whatever the reason is we'll probably never know), the introduction showed a lot of style and didn't trip over it's own feet like Earthchild or Ice-Head Gill, and the first major arc was pretty good and showed a lot of potential depth to the characters and places the plot can go that the current arc is capitalising on.
The story itself hasn't developed into anything special yet, but the pacing is on point compared to most shonen. I appreciate that it's been giving the plot and the characters room to breathe and develop. We'd probably have gotten more major antag teases, hamfisted flashbacks etc by this point in a lot of other manga.

Shits getting crazy. I cant get enough of seeing the Enchanted Blade's powers in action
Now poo poo's really popping off.

I started reading this manga because of the memes. I thought the first couple of chapters were very edgy and impossible to take seriously. Now? Now I want Hakuri to finally kill his entire family and take over, boy deserves all good that can come his way, and Chihiro is a genuinely cool person and a great friend and Shadow the Hedgehog-level edgy (the best kind of edgy).
But Chihiro would never take candy from a baby it would not be fine by him

This is so hype. This begs for animation.

i love how wild and mysterious the shinuchi powers are, the staging and art are really selling it as an overwhelming power using only a fraction
Yeah, but the author will need to stick the landing. Perhaps we won’t even ever see the full power as it seems difficult to deal with narratively.
This is definitely a manga I would've read if it had been released around the same time as Kenshin. The character even has a cross shaped scar on the cheek!
This entire sequence is batshit crazy. I also rather find myself being impressed by bad dad. He really was quite powerful.

Good rear end chapter
