On the suggestion of various people, I've decided to make my own thread for my creative pursuits (mostly so I stop taking up space in the Transformers thread...). Right now I've got various writing/fanfiction projects in the works, but I don't have much to show for it so far beyond art I've commissioned. My primary focus is an original Transformers continuity that remixes various stuff from the various continuities into one big universe which I call the "Vanguardverse" due to the importance of an organization called the Planetary Vanguard in the universe's history. I've also got several Digimon and Pokemon projects in progress. My biggest weakness as a writer, I'd say, is overplanning and wanting to get various things set in stone in advance. I'm working to change that, however. The next post will be a master post of art I've gotten for the Vanguardverse, to keep it all in one place.

even if the fanfiction never comes to pass, I just think the artwork's neat! it takes stylings from multiple different transformers universes, which I feel is probably the point based on the premise, and merges them into a unique, sometimes not-entirely-toy-friendly style! plus, I'm always for putting food on artist's tables. I think one of my favorite of the designs is the Sweep, this guy: making the Sweeps not just bearded clones but feral flying guns is cool. I kinda always disliked the flying soap bar of the original Scourge/Sweeps, but this one gives them some real charisma and threatening aura. yeah I more mean like, well, the best example is the Ratbat into drone, it definitely does not look feasible as a toy.  would you be able to include links to each of the artists you commission from?

Haha yeah Ratbat is not feasible as a toy yeah. He’d have to be severely compromised. But I think Aiden did a super great job on him and his batty friends. I’ll edit with links once I’m done with lunch. Volti doesn’t have a twitter as far as I know though. Edit - I just saw your earlier edits. Gridlock’s weapon is actually a parasol! We characterize him as something of a dandy…a Unicron worshipping dandy.

interesting! I remember one of the things when you first posted it that I forgot to mention I wish it had been, with Overkill turning into a PS5, I wish the controllers had been his weapons, not a far stretch from morphing the handles of the controllers into the blasters.

Edit - His power is to instill stasis lock in other bots, and he uses the watch to focus those powers/fool people into thinking the watch is the source of them. Glad you're still posting, hoss. Like I said in the TF thread I really dig Armada Jetfire as the GI Joe Defiant shuttle, and I'm excited to see both what you do with the boost vehicle from that, as well as "Skyfire". Especially if they're different people! Also, I know you were asking about characterization for Ramjet, did you get a design sorted for the coneheads yet? E: also also, reiterating that Quillo did a great Crasher, I love her expression. I could prefer that she was a Le Mans style closed-wheel car, but I realize the Mirage Repaint genie is out of the bottle and ain't never being put back in. The Coneheads are coming after Vinnie and I finish getting as much mileage out of the Starscream body type, but it’s gonna primarily take inspiration from Armada Thrust in order to set them apart from the other prevalent Seeker model. That said, Ramjet might not be among them, as Mini-Con Ramjet won that one poll. Skyfire is indeed a separate character from Jetfire! And I have plans for the booster, too, I’m just giving Quillo chances to work on other things before I ask him to revisit it.

after millions of years, an update! This is Overkill's buddy, Slugfest, and his Autobot counterpart, Crunchback, whose name comes from a prototype name for old Sluggy here. Crunchback's colors are based on Wal-Mart Dinobot Slapper, for the record. As you see, they both transform into fight sticks, and are designed to interact with Overkill's console mode. These were done by Decepticonaiden. Coming soon: the final members of Soundwave's crew from the same artist, Beastbox and Squawktalk, along with their combined form! Also from Aiden, here's Vanguardverse Sandstorm, who's been reimagined as a Sixchanger to rival Sixshot! All his alt modes are based on other 'bots to hold the name Sandstorm! Finally, it wouldn't be an update without a few more seekers and Cyberjets from Vinnie! First, the seekers! In order we have the generic Seeker warrior, Autobot warden of Garrus-9 Stealth Saber, the very French female Seeker Avia who debuted in the RPG sourcebooks, the nonbinary Blitzkrieg who is also from the sourcebooks, comedians Dirgegun and Thrustor who are based on the Combatron jets from BWII, Overcast who is based on that Onslaught-colored Seeker that showed up that one time, and the cowardly and kraven partner to Mindwipe, Skystalker. And now...for the debut of the conehead seeker bodytype! Iiiiiiit's Thrust! As you can see, Vinnie went all in on the "squidhead" angle, making his whole head look squid-like! Multiple coneheads are in the works, with Dirge and Ramjet already in the planning stages! I wrote a little about Thrust himself on my Blue Sky here. Now for the bombers. Here we have the mystical and manipulative Mindwipe, who is based on his ROTF incarnation, and the ever glorious and loyal Lugnut, as well as his mercenary sister and partner of Lockdown, Clobber, who uses Lugnut's "atomic" color-scheme to differentiate herself from her brother That's all I have today folks!
