I think you have to compare each at a full operational capacity, else it's just a clear answer. Something more akin to the Host of Air and Darkness vs the British miliary circa 2015 from Charles Stross' Laundry Files: The Nightmare Stacks (one of only two modern mil vs spec-fic scenes I've ever actually enjoyed)

Of course Stross' Britain also has some metaphysical intelligence agency tricks up its sleeve, not least directing a petrifying medusa stare down all urban CCTV cameras at once

So there's still no real way to gift copies of this to people right

These are limited tech proficiency folks. It d be much easier if I could mail them a print on demand book Dammit Graydon pull a dwarf fortress and compromise your principles slightly so we can all give you money more easily

Or record yourself narrating and send them an audiobook

You can easily share copies through the focus so get to work on inventing that and then you can

The polycule could probably put enough power into a ritual working with Blossom to convert a big enough chunk of the earth's core to energy to blow up the whole planet. Which tops our own ability to merely scour the land surface of the globe with enough nukes to probably wipe out humanity.

"The more robust capacities of heave have velocities that don't come back down" They're not quite shooting inter-continentally, but once you're in orbit you're near enough there. They could figure it out if they needed it. But also habeasdorkus posted:The polycule could probably put enough power into a ritual working with Blossom to convert a big enough chunk of the earth's core to energy to blow up the whole planet. Which tops our own ability to merely scour the land surface of the globe with enough nukes to probably wipe out humanity. The maximum limit of 10k people in a focus is because the gestalt mind loses coherency at that scale, right? Theres nothing to suggest the maths stops scaling is there? So you could plug all 1 million Commonweal citizens into a standard, and push the power into Blossom for a multiplier of 22. In her fight against Reems she's dropping 2-reds as a distraction, so with the multiplier she's machine gunning out 50kt blasts and casually erasing cities without even getting close to her sustainable output. Her maximal continual rate could easily add another zero to that. The only problems with Operation Geocide are: 1) convincing the entirety of the second commonweal to go along with the plan 2) As soon as you turn it on, Blossom will be subject to comical levels of Exaltation and the whole plan is gonna get thrown out the window in favour of her apotheosis

I love these books and with Graydon’s totally legitimate Amazon boycott, it is hard to have friends to share them with, so this thread has been awesome to read and occasionally contribute to. I hope we can all get together soon and read book 6, and I hope LLSix is still our Standard Captain!
