I'm here to help!

Tokes PMed me about playing but since I was on vacation from Wednesday to Sunday (GenCon, I had a blast), I couldn't play, but she said there was a role that wouldn't activate until later in the game, and I was like "yes, that please".

I bookmarked the main game so I could catch up when I got home but didn't actually read it, so imagine my surprise to learn there's multiple games going. Very Inception! I'm allowed to read the main game and the first dream up to a certain point, which I'll do over the course of today.

You can read all of the main game? The rest of us were only allowed to read the first day. If so please tell us what happened D2 in the main thread

I also gained an action, but won’t be full claiming. It seems to me that we might want to try to coordinate who goes another layer deep tomorrow

For today I shall assume scum on the tucker elimination and start by hunting among those of you who voted there

Zoya doesn’t like (1) the fact that I voted her and (2) the fact that I am encouraging town to think about who should stay behind, which her scum team is already doing

I think the only coordinating we are going to be doing is trying to out-post the people we don't want there.

We could also agree to have people not descend. Scum is doing this and we should at least consider it too

Yes but scum can talk about these matters and try to strategize about who uses the dream machine to descend, who kills, who makes sure to hit a high post count etc

My opinion about this is so uncontroversially and self evidently correct that I swear anyone who disagrees has to be scum lol

CONFIRMED TOWN
[*]shwinnebego (he/him)

CLAIMED 3P
[*]CapnAndy (he/him, will also accept "cis scum")

TOWN READS, ROUGHLY IN ORDER OF STRONGEST TOWN READ TO WEAKEST

[*]ObamaAkbar. (He/him): I have found scumObama's posts in the past to have a dodgier vibe, and for him to be more aloof and less engaged as scum. I think Obama is very likely town this game.

[*]EGalz18 (She/Her): After attracting hella sus Day 1 (largely for being lurky), EGalz has posted well. I think she's likely town, and I think there were scum pushing her D1.

[*]SporkChan (He/Him): Spork's posts have been good since Day 1 in my opinion. Other people I read as townie, especially yuming, have sussed him consistently but none of the cases have resonated with me.

[*]Maerlyn (she/her): Maerlyn's posts/cases have been fine this game, and she is at least attempting to hunt scum consistently. None of her opinions strike me as contrived or fake.

[*]JosefStalinator (He/him): Stalin has been posting fine this game, and I have no pings on him. Leaning town

[*]Rhymes With Clue: I sussed Rhymes on a weak breadcrumb D1 case, and her response to that (admittedly very weak) case was pretty defensive. She's been *fine* since, but not amazing. Would like to see more scumhunting.

SCUM LEAN (no particular order)

[*]Voodoofly (He/Him/Whatever): This is just a vibe. I think that there's a certain mode of sincerity that Voodoo attempts while scumposting that is just ever so slightly put on and a bit too on the nose. I'm getting a whiff of that this game

[*]CubicalSucrose: I am increasingly persuaded that Cube is not really hunting scum, after reading today

[*]Tired Moritz: At a minimum doing almost nothing to help town.

[*]kaschei: I have disliked kaschei's posting all game. Reeks of scumminess overall to me. Must revisit vote patterns.

[*]Hal Incandenza (he/him/hal): Affable/engaged Hal is scum Hal

[*]Zoya[/list=1]: Zoya has been defensive, reactive, and prickly all game. Town Zoya is none of those things.

I would vote any of my scum-reads.

CubicalSucrose posted:

Okay. Here's where my head was at earlier today.

1) I have thought JS scummy since D1.
2) I was VT Level 0, VT Level 1 (Train), non-VT Level 2 (School).
3) JS was on the borderline of activity in Level 1 and didn't make any strong efforts to post out of it (contrast with EGalz who I pushed similarly in the Train).
4) Short day.
5) JS asked for results today.
6) I haven't fully reread the previous days.

JS asking about results suggests something like one of:
A) They are VT L0 & L1 & L2 (in which case, why risk staying on L1 with too-low activity to guarantee a slot in L2?).
B) They are scum trying to fish out power roles and/or setup info.

Rather than asking people for a scum case on JS (because I already had a scum read on JS), I asked for town cases (because of point #6 above I might've forgotten something important that JS did that was a good thing).

Since we're now two power roles down, and again short day, it seems like eliminating an at-worst-VT is a pretty good starting point for this day. We also have the CapnAndy default elim if we want, but I think JS is scummier.

this post makes no sense

I'm at this interesting spot where I've got suspicions on Cube, Zoya, and Maer. And then there are people who I read as town saying things like, "For sure Cube, no way Maer." or "Maer is scum, but Zoya is the towniest they've ever been."

I don't expect everyone to agree with me or anything, but the disconnect is making my brain hurt.

yes there is a strikingly low level of agreement in this game. i kinda think that scum's high absolute numbers set the stage for that during (real) D1 because scum could likely distribute their in-thread suss across a lot of targets in a way that would make it harder for town to consolidate
