I'm here to help!

Tokes PMed me about playing but since I was on vacation from Wednesday to Sunday (GenCon, I had a blast), I couldn't play, but she said there was a role that wouldn't activate until later in the game, and I was like "yes, that please".

I bookmarked the main game so I could catch up when I got home but didn't actually read it, so imagine my surprise to learn there's multiple games going. Very Inception! I'm allowed to read the main game and the first dream up to a certain point, which I'll do over the course of today.

Hunting scum is part of it, so I'm happy to focus on just that part until I have a better handle on what's going on and we've all built some trust.

I would really really like Cube or anyone else to explain this JS case, right now I'm perfectly willing to vote either one of them; either the case is good and I'll vote JS, or it's bad and I'll vote Cube for pushing it. I am willing to vote shwinne because they've been weirding me out all day, and I'll default to him if nobody can clarify this Cube/JS stuff. Quick summary of cases on schwinn and cube or is it basically schwinn all over the place and cube being cube?
schwinne yes, I don't know what cube is usually like.

Cube insinuates a result that JS was scum:

CubicalSucrose posted:

Because I don't want to fullclaim and hardpush JS today if I missed something.
But walks it back:

CubicalSucrose posted:

And it wasn't necessarily that JS was scum, but at worst JS would've been vanilla yet again so on another D1 with a really quick deadline, seemed like a good route to push.
Which is bizarre, because from my understanding of what's been happening to you real people, you're all still in N1 and nobody's gotten any results back at all. Cube then makes a "case" on JS that does not require results:

CubicalSucrose posted:

Okay. Here's where my head was at earlier today.

1) I have thought JS scummy since D1.
2) I was VT Level 0, VT Level 1 (Train), non-VT Level 2 (School).
3) JS was on the borderline of activity in Level 1 and didn't make any strong efforts to post out of it (contrast with EGalz who I pushed similarly in the Train).
4) Short day.
5) JS asked for results today.
6) I haven't fully reread the previous days.

JS asking about results suggests something like one of:
A) They are VT L0 & L1 & L2 (in which case, why risk staying on L1 with too-low activity to guarantee a slot in L2?).
B) They are scum trying to fish out power roles and/or setup info.

Rather than asking people for a scum case on JS (because I already had a scum read on JS), I asked for town cases (because of point #6 above I might've forgotten something important that JS did that was a good thing).

Since we're now two power roles down, and again short day, it seems like eliminating an at-worst-VT is a pretty good starting point for this day. We also have the CapnAndy default elim if we want, but I think JS is scummier.
And then mostly goes silent/posts white noise, with one last "case":

CubicalSucrose posted:

1) Point me to three good JS posts across the whole game.
2) Why would JS, as VT, end D2 16th in postcount?
That's Cube's last post in this thread.

It's nothing but softclaiming a result he couldn't have and then harping on postcount, for some reason, while shifting the burden of proof ("point to me three good JS posts" -- no, it's your responsibility to show us bad ones if you think he's scum).

Shwinne on the other hand is just being goddamn strange. Trying to coordinate night actions, being way too into the weeds about mechanics and setup, making a vote very close to deadline with no rationale for someone who isn't a vote leader. It's been weird behavior all day.

After sleeping on it, my thought is this: scum have buddies. Cube made an impossible softclaim, walked it back, and then went successively more and more quiet. This reads consistent with someone who's got teammates telling him "you screwed up, walk it back and go quiet and we'll see if we can get heat off you". Shwinne has continued to be weird. If he's got scumbuddies, he's either ignoring him or they either cut bait.

##vote Cube but seriously shwinne, so weird!

Honestly I think it's still a solid theory; I assumed that scum are running a dream heist and they can't win without diving as deep as possible. Because without an incentive, why would scum have ever gone to sleep in the first place? If they all stayed awake, on D2 they'd get a town that had suddenly lurched extremely close to LYLO, and as an added bonus, an increasing amount of towns making faster votes that literally could not vote right. And since cube and egalz were so clearly desperate to dive, well... I was pretty certain and now I feel bad.

also considering I would consider my Kaschei case about as good (aka lovely) as any day 1 vote I'm also not opposed to just yeeting Andy out of curiosity and for being a 3p.
Let me know beforehand if you're gonna, okay? I can win while dead so it's not the worst the in the world for me -- and that, incidentally, ought to be proof in my favor; if I was traditional 3P I'd need to preserve myself until I hit my win condition.

Honestly, I'm finding being a subconcious construct extremely relaxing. I've got my job, I'm gonna do my job, other problems are for real people to worry about.

Another bend and twist to reality, this time near those who chose to dream deeper in the corner of the classroom. Paint peels off the walls and tiles from the ceiling rain down. When reality snaps back to normal, ObamaAckar.'s body has disappeared.

ObamaAckbar has been pulled into limbo!
But that said, what the gently caress is going on down there

Some teeth long for ripping, gleaming wet from black dog gums. So you keep your eyes closed at the end. You don't want to see such a mouth up close. before the bite, before its oblivion in the goring of your soft parts, the speckled lips will curl back in a whinny of excitement. You just know it.
We gotta yeet someone and there are no self-evidently good options, is that about an accurate summary of where we all are right now
