I don't collect anything. Seems like a massive waste. The only things you could consider I "collect" are just things I'm too lazy to throw away.

Wait, do medications count?

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Dark Knight

I like to collect old video game magazines. They are a nice little time capsule and always have interesting things like old 90's DBZ fanart or letters from kids speculating about Mario 4 for the Super Nintendo 2.

Plus, you can often find interesting things like aerial maps of game levels that otherwise were never released elsewhere by the devs.

I can't collect anything because I live in a studio apartment and I do two different sports that use a lot of equipment so space is at a premium. It's kinda cool, I make my bed every morning because I need to use the top of my bed as a working surface

I'll never get rid of my Dreamcast and Gamecube, probably gonna end up dumping most of the rest. I don't really need an original hardware NES and Genesis, been thinking to maybe recap the Genesis and turn it into a synth?

might keep my OG xbox

How much is it worth? My brother has ours and I can likely steal it if it’s worth my time.

expensive nostalgic items are weird because of the uncanny valley.

you buy a video game, probably one you had as a child, to remind you of your childhood. but then that game is some expensive collector's copy which you can only afford because you're an adult now. probably a busy adult at that, since you have so much money to waste. and if it's a sealed copy, you can't even play the game since opening it will make it lose it's value. it's all one big contradiction.

Oh wait, I lied. I used to collect stuff. Old guns. I even have a license. But I'd actually go outside and shoot them.

God drat that feels like a lifetime ago. I forgot about it. Covid put a stop to all of that. Insane price gouging, panic buying from morons, and my general disgust with the gun community and everything that entails took me out of it.

My CIB Tengen Tetris and Taito Little Samson that I picked up at a Kaybee Toys liquidation became a large part of my down payment for my house. Sorry about being part of the weird.

If you haven't played Little Samson, it's a great game. One of the best NES IMHO.

EDIT: Tengen Tetris CIB isn't worth too much, but combined with it still in the KB Toys anti-theft case, along with the pull from shelves notice printed on green bar paper dated June 13th, 1989, makes it worth quite a bit.
In early 2009, I was at the Sioux Empire mall in Sioux Falls, SD. My parents were originally from SE SD, so it wasn't an uncommon occurrence for me to be there. Kaybee was being liquidated and these two carts were in a plastic tote with a bunch of what I think were warranty returns. I asked how much for the tote, which had some NES, SNES, and Gameboys in it. I purchased it for 50 dollars. Most of the stuff was broken, but I still have the top load NES, along with a SNES-101 I was able to fix.
